So i finally got to try this place which is not far from and really came in right as they opened so maybe not the best time as they were probably still prepping. Before i get to the food i really hope the cones on the parking spaces would be removed when they open the door just because i had to initially be doubled parked and it was just pouring outside and i think it also help customers know you are open.
Now as i entered i was greeted with a friendly welcoming no doubt about it. I ordered pork skewer with a rice box with crispy pork and some shrimp. I also decided to order a Vietnamese coffee. With all of that i paid a little over $30 which was pretty pricey unless i got a full meal. What i mean by that i got one pork skewer and I thought i had paid for two or it came as 2 not one and maybe that's on me but they gave it to me in a big box with lots of lettuce on the bottom which i found it a little odd. It was also cold, which goes back to them probably doing online orders first? Because i saw my tray of food brought to the meal prepper to finish my rice box but she was making banh mi not sure why my box wasn't fulfilled but i think that was the main cause of it being cold. Unless they are meant to be served cold? That would be new to me. I wasn't a fan of the shrimp and how easily they broke in half which seems like they cut and split them down the middle and the pork i feel it would've tasted better if it was warm. Nobody eats bacon cold right? The plating i feel needs a lot of work it just looks like a box left for the friendly rabbit to eat from. The last thing i got was Vietnamese coffee which did not taste good tbh and not sure if they even put condensed milk, it just tasted off. From the many ive had all over Seattle. Besides all of that i will still go because what i really want to try is the fried chicken for sure . So the post may be edited down the road.
Overall i gave it a 4 for the service an environment not the food. Thank you all...
Read moreI rate this for today's experience only. I placed my order over the phone as usual for me, I told him I would like it cooked a specific way (hard) as usual for me, he told me 10 to 15 minutes it will be ready. I came in10 minutes to pay my bill, and leave a tip as usual for me. There was one customer in front of me, 8 to 10 minutes later he is done with that customer, now all the while I see the chicken order sitting up there it's been sitting there before I got there but I wasn't sure it was mine. After he got done with the customer he looked at me and walked away, I I don't know what I did to offend him, as I give everyone respect. Then some other person came up to help, got my package which was mine and as soon as he put it in The palm of my hand I could tell that the bottom of it was cool not hot not cold but you could tell it had maybe 5 minutes left of heat I get outside I open it up and it's not what I ordered. They didn't have time to fulfill my order and just put regular chicken in there. And it was not hot. I took it back in, showed the lady that I was setty the box there on the counterput and left. I was hungry and now a little irritated, I called the manager, asked for a refund, she asked why, I explained it to her, she said okay your money's refunded. and that was that. No apology for my wasting my money, or wasting my time, or even about the service. Anytime before this I've had good customer service and good food, and a good experience.those guys on that crew know about...
Read moreI stopped here on a whim to pick up food for a Fourth of July party and was blown away by the food and service. I got a large order of pork and chicken skewers, a snack size order of wings to eat in store, and the Vietnamese coffee. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area.
The skewers were very reasonably priced, long (really two skewers in one) and came with a bunch of sides to make wraps (lettuce wraps, pickled carrot/daikon, mint, jalapeno, nuoc cham, and spicy sauce). Since I bought multiple, the person helping me was careful to pack them separately from each other and from the veg so that they'd stay identifiable and fresh to go. She also offered to cut each of the skewers in half so they'd be easier to serve and gave me multiple types of sauces. It wasn't just the service, everything was delicious – the skewers were flavorful, the sauces were super savory with just the right amount of sweetness (not too much), and the vegetables brought it all together. I don't live in the area, but if Kkokio started offering catering platters I'd totally order them for parties in the future.
The fried chicken wings were also great. Crispy, juicy, and the padak sauce was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. I wasn't sure which sauce I wanted at first and they offered me a sample to help me decide. The Vietnamese coffee was super strong, just how I like it, and exactly what I needed to get through party prep the...
