F45 Central District has been absolutely amazing for my workout journey. As someone who struggles to go to the gym and create my own workouts, having classes as an important criteria for me. I used ClassPass for about 2 years trying to find the exact type of classes that I like, until I discovered F45 in Central District!!! The reason I loved the workouts here was the way that the workouts are so unique and circuit style so you never get mentally bored or dread doing the same workout for 30 minutes. However, the coaches are really what stands out at these classes, especially after being to SO many different type of classes. They are so attentive, they check your form constantly which is really important for me because I frequently used to tweak my back from incorrect postures. They hype you up and they make you feel seen. I especially want to call out my 2 favorite coaches - Coach Jordan & Coach JD. I actively seek out their classes to take! They bring the right amount of hype, personal interaction as well as attentiveness. I recently have taken a handful of classes with Coach Laura as well, and she also has been incredible. Workout classes do end up blending into similar concepts, but the coaches are really what makes studios standout! After recovering from top surgery, I wanted to ensure I was regaining full range of motion in my upper body and work to build some muscle in a place where Iād never seen muscle before. Jordan was incredibly helpful in welcoming me and my friend in for our first workout. He was very warm and responsive to my needs and goals. I found the format of F45 to be extremely helpful to erode my sense of dread. With each movement lasting about 45 seconds, tough moments pass quickly without a need to dwell. Knowing that the workout will last 45 minutes and that nothing unpleasant will last more than a minute while not knowing what the stations will be eliminates an opportunity for me to say, āI donāt want to do thatā and stay home. I like the class format that gives me just the right amount of individual attention without feeling like Iām under a microscope. Itās so nice to not have to come up with a workout and to just follow the plan while feeling like Iām part of a supportive team. The owner John, coaches Leah, Sawyer and others are incredible and have worked hard to build a friendly and supportive community. I have been working out here ever since they first opened in 2019 and it has undoubtedly changed my life. The coaches helped reform my diet which gave me even better results.
The membership pricing compared to other recreational facilities is significantly better and you can easily get more bang for your buck by signing up for an unlimited membership.
A couple of tips: Ask your coach at the beginning of class to give you extra attention if you want to better your form and get more out of your workouts. Don't like cardio? Come on strength days so you can focus on gains. Want a mix of both? On Saturdays they do hour-long workouts with a local DJ dropping beats. Also, get to know the people working out next to you! There is a diverse community from varying ages and walks of life that will make you feel included no matter what your body type or background is.
