I purchased a couple bags last year after reading some rave reviews on Reddit (thereโs a massive Seattle-area coffee roaster list you should look up sometime). I tried their bright and classic blends with my lever espresso machine. Wow. First off, as a designer, I was tickled by the excellent packaging and branding (I know, Iโm a nerd). I got a smidge nervous as I tend to find companies may invest a lot in the LOOK of a product only for the product itself to be either overpriced or mediocre (for example: beats by Dre, anything Apple). Fear not. The coffee is even better. Quite frankly, this is the best Iโve ever had. And folks who are local to Seattle have a lot of high-quality roasters to spoil them (Anchorhead and Victrola are great spots too). Soโฆ for the past six months Iโve been drinking nothing but the bright blend. Itโs great black in an americano albeit a bit acidic, and AMAZING in vanilla lattes, iced caramel macchiatos, or milkshakes (blend a double shot with vanilla ice cream and [optionally] chocolate chips and thank me later). Plus, the org is top notch and I can rest easy knowing the farmers are paid fairly.
In short: Kuma coffee knows what theyโre doing. And Iโd argue that...

I brew with chemex with chemex filters as well as a 3 hole restriction pour over from Japanese dollar store and I did not realize they did not have a retail store...Despite my error when I showed up(... Don't), I was treated graciously and given more coffee than I deserve when I didn't have exact change for a bag...GO TO Whole Foods and buy a bag for yourself if your in Seattle...I live in Nashville and have tried many other roasters both local and abroad through other subscription services but I have come back to Kuma as a subscriber because the only thing better than the coffee was the kindness and generosity of the people who...
ย ย ย Read moreWe LOVE Kuma coffee!! We are good friends with the owners, and they are incredibly lovely people. Their Seattle-based organization and team are superb, and as if that wasn't enough, the coffee is incredible! They work hard in sourcing their coffee, as well as roasting, and it pays off. If you like to actually taste your coffee, and it's not just a vehicle for caffeine that you're going to drown in cream and sugar, then you will appreciate Kuma. (I'm sure it tastes good with cream and sugar too, but I haven't tried it) You can subscribe and have coffee sent to your house! Especially when house-bound, it's awesome! Yes, it's a little pricier than Starbucks, but once you try it, you'll...
