Flew to Seattle for a cruise and had planned on going to a czech restaurant they have because there are none where we are from. Had to drive over 30 min to get there. Prior to going even though google said it was open we tried to call to be extra sure they were open. No answer went to voicemail 3x. So we took a chance and went anyways. Upon arriving , looking forward to getting some czech dumplings we arrive and they had no regular food, only some pastry's. We told them what happened and although they were very sorry they could not do anything. They said due to economy and being short staffed they are currently not selling food. We were understanding because the economy is messed up where we are from also (opposite end of the USA). The food we wanted is displayed online and was why we went in the first place. I am giving them 4 stars because the employee's were so kind to us and very apologetic about our issues. The point of this review is so they will take food off there internet listings including google and maybe answer the phone so this does not happen to anyone...

They were severely overpriced for how low quality they were! I paid $20 for all 3 at the farmer's market. And they tasted like $7 for all 3 at Safeway.

First of all, the pastry used were tasteless, dry / crumbly and stale tasting. Zero hint of butter, so probably the margarine stuff. The cannoli filling was pretty passable (if it were $4).

Second of all, the fillings were not fresh and homemade! Why are you charging $7?!?! The apple strudel had a strong artificial flavor taste to it. Very underwhelming and tasted like store bought paste. The raspberry jam on the tart tasted like artificially flavored jelly from the store. But it did tasted like it had fresh raspberries in it though, thank goodness for that.

I was expecting something entirely different having paid $20. It blows my mind that people are...

First, Emily is awesome. Hands down amazing. Love her. Second, when I tell you that after taking a bite of the poppyseed roll, I was transported back to my grandmother’s house like back in my childhood. The taste, the texture, everything was just oh so good. Then there was the kolach. I love cream cheese. Period. Add strawberries and you have yourself a winner. 100000% recommend. The shop is warm and reminds me of the kitchens and cafes of Eastern Europe. I think next time, I’ll stay a while and enjoy the atmosphere. Are you going to pay a premium here? Yes. But you can taste the love and care that is put into everything that comes out of here. It’s a treat. And life is too short not to treat yourself.
