Some places have it all. Some things never get old to me. Some places are where the LOCALS, historians and TOURISTS should be as frequently as they will to. That's McCoy's Firehouse for beer, non alcoholic, soda, eat or drink, vagabond or newborn in arms, it's both a restaurant and bar and truly appreciated.
I haven't been back there for about two years now but I plan on returning very soon indeed. Here's a review that summarizes all the visits I've had and the wonderful experiences you will probably have too at McCoy's Firehouse in Pioneer Square. Please do yourself and McCoy's Firehouse a favor and go visit and support this local economy too.
Here's what I like:
HISTORY by way of Architecture, design or stay. This place is a place to visit on your Seattle map, Tourists, come have a beer or a meal and look around at a truly historic place from form, function, harlots, firemen to their amazing Hangover Burger for breakfast or brunch, it's one original place you won't find anywhere else in the world or Pioneer Square, Seattle Washington State, USA.
STEAK, a delicious aged piece of beef, a loved animal whatever the cut or cook. Whether it's with eggs and toast, or salad and baker, their beef and sausage for that matter are dry aged in house and beneath your feet by them, themselves and an incredible value by the way. I'm telling you the value here is amazing for meats because they age themselves. I have taken many first timers there for a delicious meal and it's unpretentiously, a dive bar atmosphere.
INFAMOUS WOMEN of any kind, past or present, deed, politik, dimension, demure, divinely ordained, worshiped to diabolic, feared, revered or devilishly cunning. One you'll find here is undaunted and she's the infamous type and that's the owner here. Her small business and company of badasses is another reason people keep returning to McCoy's Firehouse as often as they can. She's not afraid of anything and she's not afraid of what you think. Oh! She's friendly as hell too! I really like her though I have never said hello, I think I will next time, though. Her staff is just as fiery and friendly from their opening lights to the end of the day or keg.
That's a beautiful thing and I raise a glass and spend what I can if I'm able here at her place of community rather than there.
Cheers to McCoy's! Keep doing what you...
Read moreI recently visited the Firefighter-themed bar located in a neighborhood that could be described as a bit shady. Despite its surroundings, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience this unique establishment had to offer.
Upon entering the bar, I was immediately captivated by the ambiance. The firefighter theme was brilliantly executed, with firefighting equipment and memorabilia adorning the walls, creating an authentic and engaging atmosphere. The dim lighting and subtle hints of smoke in the air added to the bar's charm, enhancing the overall vibe.
The bar staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the extensive drink menu. They were quick to recommend signature cocktails that perfectly complemented the theme, and their enthusiasm added to the overall experience. The drinks themselves were expertly crafted and delicious. From smoky concoctions to fiery shots, each sip added to the immersive feel of the bar.
While the bar itself exceeded expectations, it is important to note that the neighborhood surrounding it left something to be desired. The area felt a bit shady and gave off an uneasy vibe. However, once inside the bar, any concerns about the neighborhood dissipated as the unique theme and friendly atmosphere took center stage.
Despite the neighborhood's shortcomings, the bar itself provided an enjoyable experience. It is clear that the owners and staff have put considerable effort into creating a memorable and engaging environment. From the well-curated decor to the well-crafted drinks, this Firefighter-themed bar offers a unique escape from the surrounding area.
If you're in search of a bar with an exciting theme, fantastic ambiance, and a lively vibe, I would highly recommend giving this Firefighter-themed bar a visit. While the neighborhood may be questionable, once you step inside, you'll be transported to a world of firefighting excitement, making for an...
Read moreI ate here during the first week of July and had the worst experience. When we arrived, we sat down and waited over 15 minutes to be acknowledged. When we were given menus, we were told to be ready to order ASAP- so we did that only to wait around for another 15-20 minutes. I have a gluten allergy and while I am very aware there are limited options for me on the menu, we had intended to stop in for a drink and small bite. When I was able order, I requested the fries to be on a separate plate to minimize the cross contamination. The waitress gave me pushback on my request, telling me it’s stupid to order fries anyways if I didn’t want gluten… I had friends with me that were interested in consuming what I couldn’t. The waitress continued to argue with me for nearly 3 minutes and finally said okay to my request. However, when my plate arrived, not only were the fries on the same plate (which would have been annoying but something I could work with), but dumped on top of everything on the plate. I found this shockingly intentional and disrespectful. Especially when I had explained a medical concern. I am someone who doesn’t like making a scene, so I decided to take a chance and consume the sausages I intended to eat— bad decision, I was sick for 2 weeks. I am very disappointed with how I was treated, I will not be coming back and neither will any of my friends. As someone who also works in food service, I understand the weight of rush hour, but there is never an excuse for the...
