I actually went to the food truck by the same name as this place - Tat's truck - since I walk by it a good amount on Thursdays. It generally has a line around lunchtime, so I was interested to check it out. I decided to go with the Philly Cheesesteak, or Tat's Philly. I really liked this sandwich. Firstly, it's so easy to get the bread wrong - have it be too chewy, or taste stale. However, this place knocks it out of the park with their bread - it's some of the best sandwich bread I've had. It's lightly crispy on the outside; just enough to maintain a good base and provide light resistance when biting through. The inside is extremely soft and fluffy though, making it an absolute delight. I feel like I could just eat the hoagie roll by itself and love it This sandwich is pretty packed with steak, and that's a great thing. The steak here is very good. It's cut super-thin, and in a lot of tiny little pieces, basically like crumbs. It would've been easy for this to taste like ground beef, but I definitely get that classic steak flavor here. The meat is flavorful - and importantly, avoids being dry at all. I also enjoyed the cheese - I think it was a good amount on there such that it complements the meat, but not so much that it completely takes over the flavor of the sandwich. You feel the steak way more than the cheese in this cheesesteak, and maybe there could have been a little more cheese, but it tasted pretty good regardless I also loved the onions and grilled peppers - the textural contrast provided with these was great, and it was very nice to have these extra flavors in what's otherwise a pretty onenote sandwich For the price of around $15, the portion size here is actually very good. The steak is practically spilling out of the roll, and the roll itself is probably around a foot long. Overall, despite being from a food truck, I thought the sandwich from this spot was very good, and I'd love to try the real place sometime. 8.75/10

The classic sandwich spot to go while in downtown seattle. Yes it's a little pricey but tell me a place that's not. The philly cheesesteak sandwich is the classic go to but honestly I wish I had gotten the meatball sub because the philly was good but not great. The line is always long but the service is quick and super helpful. Worth checking out for sure.

Quite disappointed by the quality of my order. I placed it online for pickup at 11:25am and arrived at 11:20am to see soggy fries and sandwich (half of it was soggy). I ate at the store so there was no delivery time that made them soggy and soft (as they recommended not to order them for delivery). Don't recommend ordering for pickup since it's not fresh at all. They have seats indoors and it was clean with water available so that was nice. Ordered the 8" pizza steak with mushrooms and I cannot recommend it. Menu claims the steak is broiled with their Tat's marinara and it clearly had little to none on it. They had some marinara on the side that I drizzled over my sandwich as I ate it though. Maybe they used to do it that way or something is wrong. There was some flavor in the beef though. Fresh cut fries were the worse that I have ever had. Looked like they were the pieces on the bottom of the pile or something because they were mostly small pieces. If that's how they make their fries, then be prepared for that style of soft and soggy fries. I'll give them one more chance and order at the store next time to see if there's any improvement since my coworker enjoys them.

As a Philly native, the cheesesteak here isn’t too bad. Not even close to the greats back home (especially considering Tat’s is more expensive than all of them and contains far less meat), but this wouldn’t be the worst cheesesteak if it was in Philly. Tat’s is definitely better than the school lunch cheesesteak by miles, and the places in Philly that try to pass off a cheesesteak with that same quality meat. Sure, the bread is off (still good though), and they’re a bit stingy with the meat, but it reminds me of steaks my mom would make at home with the frozen meat from Original Philly, which I always loved anyway.

Excited to try their hoagies and another cheesesteak with whiz. I’ll report back. If they use real Cheez Whiz, that puts them way above a lot of places in Philly that have been passing off fake Whiz as real.

Edit: they use real Cheez Whiz! It’s great!

One thing to improve: They yelled out numbers expecting everyone to remember their order number (printed in the tiniest font on the receipt), and their solution when it wasn’t working was to turn the loudspeaker up even higher to a comical level. It’s a way better idea to collect names like they do in Starbucks, or make the number really big on the receipt like McDonalds, at least. Kinda...
