Five stars for food. Two stars for their treatment of customers.
We've been here 3 times. The first and third times have been eventful. The first time, it was just the two of us, and we went at a time when the restaurant was empty. Yet they tried to give us the worst seat in the restaurant. We asked if we could have a nicer 2 person table my the window at which point we were told "Oh, we'll fill up soon" and reluctantly given the nicer table. Almost as if a nicer table was being saved for people who weren't even there? The rest of the evening went uneventfully.
The next time we came here in a group of 4, and was an uneventful happy hour.
We went here again last night with some friends. The server took our food and drink orders and then we didn't get any of those until 20-25 minutes later while we watched other guests who arrived after us getting their drinks and salads. Our initial server never came back to our table for the rest of the night. After that, we brought up that we haven't received any food or drinks yet. I understand that food takes time, but at least getting people their drinks while they wait doesn't. They brought a salad and two cocktails (there were 4 of us). About 5-10 minutes later they got our pizzas. I had to point out again that we were missing two drinks still, to which the bartender responded that "i get that" (rude!!!!!) She brought the drinks shortly after, without an apology. Thereafter we got a third server who was quite polite and apologetic for the snafu and tried to make amends (I would have just preferred a reasonable level of service TBH)
Last night definitely paints our first visit to this restaurant in a different light as well. If the restaurant was trying to deter us from visiting, point taken. It's easy to tell good hospitable service from service that is bad or trying to be bad. 1/3 times you have bad service. 2/3 times, we get it, you don't want us here.
Quick note: My partner has visited the Mount Baker branch recently as well, with a more diverse group of friends....
Read moreSpicy!! The sun was out in this winter season, we were motivated for stone fired pizza nearby. Armed with a $25 gift card, we came to Mioposto Pizza, a semi-upscale Italian establishment with 4 locations in Seattle. One should have a guaranty for a great experience. The elder waitress was friendly with great smiles seated us in the corner window. Two of us went for the brunch special, a small salad + 8in pizza for $14.50 (Spring Lamb & Le Patate con Tartufo), these have chili pepper flakes in them. My daughter requested them to be left out. I opted for The Bacon & Egg Breakfast Pizza $13.50. The waitress warned me there’s chili flakes in them and could be spicy. I love spicy foods, can’t live without them, so it’s a plus even though it’s not in the description. Yes, and the orders were placed. The salad came out within reasonable time, then the 8in pizzas. The Spring Lamb is SPICY for “chili flakes”, and also The Bacon & Egg Breakfast Pizza. A bit SPICY for Italian foods we thought. The cook must of use a table spoon instead of a tea spoon. We noted this to the waitress, she offered to check the chef for a redo, but with hesitation. We don’t want to draw any attention, and decided to pack it to go and order another 8in. If we don’t like, we won’t come back, rather making a scene. I can handle the spice but these was over the top. My daughter loved hers but we didn’t enjoy ours, a few bites and the heat took over, then followed the water. There was no price adjustment in the final bill, but an additional full price for the extra 8in. Oh well, we won’t be coming back. Also note: The prices on Google is outdated, check their website for updated menu and pricing. Not...
Read moreI’ve never written a review before in my life but this needs to be addressed. Mio Posto is my favorite pizzeria in Seattle so I don’t want to sweep this under the rug.
My wife booked a table for 6+2 high chairs for 5pm today. Over the phone they said they don’t take a reservations but there wouldn’t be a problem since they had our name down for 5pm. They said we were officially on the wait list. (I heard the conversation on speaker myself).
We get there, (remember 2 high chair means small children) they told us 30 minutes. After 40 min when I started to get a little upset and saw they just give the dessert menu to the people were eating before us. I talked to the manger and after apologizing and trying to get the table ready he kept focusing on the fact that they don’t take reservations. (You should be clear how you talk over the phone to customers especially when you see 2 high chairs are required for that table).
After 1 hour I was able to get the kids seated (only because I asked) but not the entire party. 3 people from the previous party were still sitting. We finally got the party seated after 1h and 10 minutes. After we ordered, they forgot my kid’s pizza, didn’t bring the bread we asked for before the pizza (my kids were starving, my 14 months kid crying because of the long wait.
At the end zero discount, zero acknowledgment from the manager, not even saying good night!
