Headed for an all day interview and needed a pick me up so i navigated to this location. When I arrived it was under construction but a trailer was serving customers. I only had $100 bill but its Starbucks and I assumed it wouldn't be a problem. As soon as my $100 came into view the employee helping me gave the decision of whether or not we "can" break a $100 bill to her counterpart who seized the opportunity to exert his tiny authority with a knee shattering No, we cant do that. So I was handed back my money and I stated that I looks like I'm not getting coffee then. They watched as I walked away and made no attempt to resolve their inability to take $8 for their .35 cent coffee. As I stood near by looking for another coffee joint that I could make it to and still be on time for my interview and was pigeonholed into either asking a manager or going without coffee. Easy choice cuz I needs me dat black gold. I saw the manager come back out and asked if he had access to the store or the ability to help with the $100. With confidence he let me know he'd help me out. Upon talking with the employees he came out and said they'd have my drink up in just a moment. He was extremely nice and had a palpable positive energy. I didn't grab his name but look for the reddish blonde hair and it should be obvious. Thanks again for the help and encourage the other to have a little empathy and not hold out on the working man on a cheap cup of coffee because your company failed to set you up to collect their ludicrous margins 1 out of the 100s of times I have visited its locations. That cup isnt coming out of his paycheck if he cant ...
Read moreThis has to be my least favorite location so far, of all the Starbucks around town and I've been to pretty much all of them at least once. For starters, the staff isn't very friendly at all. For example, I'm almost positive it's in their daily duties to engage in friendly banter with customers, there at Starbucks. In fact, it's usually the highlight of the Starbucks experience but DEFINITELY NOT AT THIS JOINT, OH NO! And when conversation is attempted with one of these staff members, you get the feeling that you just might've spoken out of turn...in other words, a very cold atmosphere, for sure. Your best bet is to just get your drink(s) & food and beat it. And don't bother trying to stay a while either because the looks you will get make you feel like you just did something unspeakable. And God forbid if you must use the bathroom, because I was there an hour after they opened and it looked like it should after a Friday rush after dinner time....in BOTH restrooms I had the pleasure of gracing. No exaggerations here, ever. I would definitely skip this one folks, no matter how badly you may think you might need it in that moment. Not even the drive thru, because the lines are usually at least 15-20 cars long, many times impeding traffic onto Michigan Street. Skip this one guys and move on to one you know wont tarnish that oh so clean image we all have when we think of the Starbucks brand. I wish I had something positive to say about this particular location ladies and gents, but the truth is, this is as positive as I could...
Read moreStopped by to grab a coffee on my way to work - mobile ordering was down, which is usually fine but does mean I had to deal with the cashier and spend a couple extra minutes. That’s not why the low rating though. As I ordered, the barista taking my order asked if I “still” wanted whipped cream on my drink (white mocha btw) as if my adjusting the amount of shots in the drink has anything to do with that. I said yes and asked why it was a “still” question, and he didn’t have an answer to that. So then the (different) barista making my drink didn’t put any on even after it had specifically been discussed already. When I commented about that, she pulled the lid off and did a quick half-second squirt of it as if I’d ordered “light” whip instead of normal, light enough to already be melted into my drink and therefore nonexistent by the time I got to the seating area only a few feet away. Sat and waited for my bus, then someone comes up and starts spraying the tables with some cleaning spray - including the same table I was at, less than a foot from my drink. I could feel my throat getting itchy from this so asked what was in the spray and she looked at the bottle and offered to let me read it, but by that point I didn’t feel safe remaining in there as I was starting to have an allergic reaction so I told her as much and left. I feel like they probably mostly tried, but there were some major fails here that would’ve been...
