Avoid this restaurant! Update - after reading their response, I would like a chance to rebut....we were not rude, we were not mean or disrespectful to our server. Yes, our bill was altered from $400 to $130 because we did not receive or could not eat it due to the quality. We merely suggested because it was such a terrible, disgusting display of service and quality we should not be billed. After explaining for a third time why we were so disappointed and a complete lack of concern or regret from the manager and staff we paid. Which even then took 15 minutes as it appeared they needed to learn how to use the payment machine. If you are going to try to paint us to be horrible and difficult please be honest with everything. Original review below.... Seven of us went in for a late lunch/early dinner before a concert. The fact that 7 people could walk in without a reservation so close the the venue when everything around us was overflowing should have been our first clue to find a different restaurant, but we wanted seafood while on the coast. This restaurant is hands down in the top 5 worst restaurant I have ever gone to. We were greeted quickly enough, we asked for water for the table and everyone ordered their beverages and 3 of us ordered appetizers. 10 minutes later the appetizers of clam chowder and crab fries were delivered. One cocktail arrived and my husband and friend were told the keg blew and the only other thing on tap was a cider, I was told there was no basil so could not have the cocktail I ordered. Replacement drinks were ordered. Our main meals started to arrive. We still do not have water and only 2 people had a cocktail. There were 2 crab pots ordered, both were sent back as they were ice cold. The mussel pot had mussels that were off, it was sent back. A lobster roll was ordered, we were informed they are out of lobster, a menu was delivered but was never given an opportunity to reorder. 2 margarita flights were ordered, it was like drinking sugar mixed cocktails. They looked beautiful but were undrinkable. One person ordered a can of lime whiteclaw, an hour in it was still not delivered. When it finally appeared at the table it was held by a tentative bartender inquiring who had ordered the lime White claw, but was clearly holding a pink can not the green, leading us to believe that lime was not available. We did not wait to find out just sent it back as we were now late for the concert. We had enough and asked to speak with the manager. She came over and looked absolutely terrified, when we explained that 3 meals were inedible and explaining our long list of concerns about our experiences, she did not even apologize just took a couple of the plates and left. When water finally arrived after we had completed the small amount of edible food, there were 6 glasses for the 7 of us. I know this is not a fluidly written smooth review but there was so many issues, I am having an issue remembering them all. There were a couple bright spots the martini was good and the clam chowder was enjoyed for the 2 out of 3 people that it was delivered to in a timely manner. Let me stress that the restaurant was not busy, from a customers point of view there were not a lot of excuses for service that terrible, food that carelessly prepared and lack on concern by...
Read moreWhat an absolutely terrible experience.
Look, our waiter was clearly brand new and over his head. I really want to give some grace here, but i also feel like we got robbed.
$400 for 5 people. Half the stuff we ordered was either wrong or inedible.
The stuff i can forgive, was how slow our service was. It shouldn’t have been as inattentive as it was given the number of people in there, but hey, he was new.
Our order was definitely not delivered well. The chowder came. But instead of a cup, it was a bowl. And no cutlery. So we asked. Waited. Asked again. By the time a spoon was delivered it was cold. But the waiter told us he would only charge for the cup (he didn’t).
We ordered some space dust beers. Instead we got stella artois. We ordered again. It was the wrong beer again.
We ordered a margarita flight. If you like pure sugar dumped in a glass, maybe you could stand it. They were undrinkable.
I got a walnut old fashioned. For some reason there was coffee beans in it. No idea why, but there were. I later ordered an espresso martini. These were their highlighted house cocktails. One would think you would know how to make those. Wrong. The train wreck i got couldn’t be called an espresso martini. It wasn’t just kind of off. It was clear with a ton of ice in it and had no espresso flavor. Like i think it was ice cubes, vodka, and some bitters mixed together. I told the waiter that it wasn’t an espresso martini and that it was disgusting. He said he wouldn’t charge me for it. He did.
I am probably skipping how we had to ask multiple times for simple things like sauce to dip the fries in, water, etc. it took 45 minutes for that to arrive.
At the end when we finally got the bill we had to leave to make the concert. We just had to walk away and eat the charges that we had been told we wouldn’t be charged for.
I want to be forgiving. But that was a lot of money. I wish i had just gotten a hot dog at a...
Read moreCold and unenthusiastic is how I'd describe the food and the staff here. I called two weeks ahead to make a reservation for 11 people. They were very professional and accommodating this large request. We arrived on time and were seated on time, however, neither the host nor the waiter/ess ever welcomed us in, asked if we had been there before, or explained how anything worked. We eventually figured out how to get service (put orders into the tablets on the table), but were never actually instructed, welcomed, or checked in on at all during our 90min stay at this otherwise-entirely-empty restaurant. Three people at the table had serious food allergies and could've benefited greatly from even one staff member stopping by to see if we had any questions or needs. There is nowhere on the tablet to communicate about food allergies or preferences, so these people were forced to order the same plain chicken and rice dish. Two of the three chicken dishes came out cold (in temperature), like they had been prepared and Sat out too long before getting dropped off at the table. Four of us ordered different seafood boils. The boils were mid. The crawfish at this establishment is disappointingly small (one crawfish is the size of about 3 cocktail cherries lined up end to end). Crab legs aren't handled or selected well and are lacking meat. When it was time to check out, somebody just dropped off two large bills on the table with no indication of how it was split up. We eventually had to walk over to the host stand and check out ourselves per party. This concluded our cold, unenthusiastic, and hands-off experience at SuperKims. This was my birthday dinner and first experience at SuperKims. Overwhelmingly disappointed, and outright embarrassed I took so many people I love to such a crummy place. I will...
