Great service, beautiful ambience. I've been here years ago when they first opened, at the time I was more into specialty rolls, and the specialty rolls are good. Ankimo is still delicious, but when it comes to the nigiri, it definitely falls short. Rice is really overcooked.
Uni - from Santa Barbara was NOT good, I almost threw up. And I'm an uni lover, it has that lower grade quality and flavor.
Scallop tastes fresh and clean
Ikura okay, too much rice ratio
Amaebi was actually really good, but the head was served to me somewhat lukewarm
Blue fin tuna sampler was probably my favorite, but the rice quality kind of ruined it, overcooked and not well portioned for the fish, and also a little too big for one bite.
Negihama roll was good, simple, again rice is overcooked and just doesn't taste right
California roll and crunchy lizard, my son enjoyed both
Spicy tuna roll, did not like it, the tuna itself was too blended so it had really no fish texture, these kinds of rolls tastes better when the fish its chopped by hand. Was not spicy at all, asked for habanero sauce and they brought me a sweet habanero sauce on a plate. I just hate when there's that much sweetness on something spicy (tearssss)
Anywho I was expecting a nice dinner with great sushi, but it's definitely a place with casual quality sushi components. I actually skipped Kura to come here, and I would've probably had the same experience there foodwise.
Service from front to dining room, to leaving was excellent. Really great team they have working together.
Beautiful ambience, nice intimate setting. I personally do not recommend any nigiri style sushi here, due to the quality of rice. But I can say if you order sashimi, you can get a decent meal sashimi style.
Also wish they had better champagne by the glass options, a dry bubble would be nice, I decided on sake, and did not like the sohomare much, it had a bitter aftertaste, dassai 45 nigori was good, a little too sweet but I enjoy dassais.
Sons passion fruit lemonade was really...
Read moreI didn’t plan on visiting this place, but while passing by, the cute and inviting design caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, the experience was incredible. The hostess greeted us immediately, and the interior design was stunning.
Our server, Ava, was fantastic! She greeted us right away and brought edamame and water within 30 seconds of us sitting down. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and patiently answered all our questions. The service was impressively fast—our food arrived in under 5 minutes after ordering (granted, it was a Wednesday evening, but they still had a decent number of tables around).
The food was amazing! We started with the Crispy Calamari, which was perfect—not greasy like most places and paired with a fresh salad and a sweet/sour orange dressing that was delicious. We also had a classic California roll (very good!) and a Seattle roll, to which I asked to add cream cheese for a Philadelphia roll vibe—it turned out amazing, with incredibly fresh fish! The green tea tempura dessert was okay—not my favorite, but all the seafood dishes were top-notch.
What really surprised me was the pricing. For such a fancy-looking spot in the historical heart of Seattle, near King Street Station, I expected much higher prices. For everything we ordered—edamame, Crispy Calamari, California roll, Seattle roll, 3 sake salmon sushi, a tea pod, and green tea tempura—the total came to only $71.72 after taxes. It was more than enough food for two people!
Overall, the experience was fantastic. Huge shoutout to Ava—she’s an absolute treasure and made our visit unforgettable! Great customer service is so rare these days, and she truly stood out. Everything was excellent, and I’ll definitely be...
Read moreThe ambiance is excellent and the location is great, with a fun vibe. The menu selection is extensive, with plenty of signature rolls and unique dishes. The problems were two-fold when my date and I dined there on a Wednesday night. First, the ingredients are fresh and dishes are well prepared, but the fusion of flavors is less than spectacular. I appreciate the concept of trying to create new tastes, but the final products missed the mark. We agreed that it tasted as though a mixture of random ingredients were combined without much thought going to how well they fused together in the final product.
The larger problem was with the service. We ordered soups that never arrived. We asked to make sure the appetizers, soups and entrees would come out in order. Lo and behold, everything else was brought at once. Dishes kept getting cleared while we were still trying to eat. People were reaching across me mid-mouthful. We felt rushed, as though the staff was itching to get us out the door. They acted like they were doing us a favor not charging us for the soups we never received. Excuses were given as to why it would take 45 minutes to serve starters, instead of admitting they forgot to enter the order.
I recommend that the staff is better trained in hospitality, and more thought is given to the ingredients to make the word “fusion” more applicable to the dishes. I would not recommend spending $50 a person for sushi at...
