Reviewed in 2020: During the Pandemic, we thought we'd try to support local business and they were one of those business that we wanted to survive. So we ordered via phone a few times. Everytime, I ran into an issue and they are very not apologetic about it either. Food is decent, but our experience with their ordering/processing have been horrible.

Some examples:

First time - they missed an item. So when I picked it up and noticed it, asked if they can correct it - the answer was yes, but I have to wait 50 minutes for their mistakes

Second time - an order with sweet shrimps. I asked for "2 orders of amaebi as sashimi, and 2 orders of amaebi (sweet shrimps) as nigiri" - they asked to confirm that we wanted sweet shrimps - they gave us 2 orders of amaebi nigiri, and 1 order of regular shrimp

Third time - I did a few orders of hamachi, salmon, scallop for both nigiri and sashimi, they missed some but charged me for it because they asked me to review my receipts. I called back once we found out - they said they didn't have it in the order. I looked at the receipt, they have Japanese name for sashimi and English name for nigiri. They claimed that I never ordered it and it wasn't on the receipt .... WTH?

At this point, we decided to say screw it. They're busy enough and I don't think we care to ever go back again.

Reviewed in 2018: Price is decent. Comparable to Musashi (a bit higher price). Fish sizes were slightly smaller (than Musashi) and I thought a few pieces were frozen and recently thawed (Hamachi). And amaebi comes with the fried head. The masago with quail egg was interesting!

Happy hour is at 8-9pm daily and they didn't hold back on the quantity on their roles. A bit much on rice, but still a pretty good ratio.

Will definitely come back...

We also used to frequent Tokyo Sushi regularly until we moved away. We stopped in last night. I thought I had seen the owner outside in the last year and was surprised to come into Bright, fast food style lighting with way too loud Vegas bar pumping music. And we decided to stay anyway. The service, as noted was friendly and she told/warned us she couldn't remember anything which was true. The Food. Let me say first: the Miso soup was the best part which is sad. We ordered the Sashimi platter and Agadashi. The agadashi arrived, almost uncooked. The tofu was hot but it wasn't golden brown. Its like they nuked it. It was unedible. And, she forgot the extra miso soup-no worry, we asked for it and it was brought. The sashimi plate arrived on this stair stepping concoction. The net: the fish was still defrosting. My first piece was watery and WAY too cold. My partners' was similar. The second piece was way too cold and had a noticeable fishy smell and taste(Hamachi). We stopped. . I paid the bill and left as it was almost impossible to get her attention to discuss the fish and we decided it was simpler and more time efficienct to simply leave. No drinks: $54. We loved Tokyo back in the day. That...

Wonderful new place in Roosevelt - everything was so delectable; the only disappointment was the tea (i thought it was going to be loose leaf but it was just Twinings). I'm unable to eat pork & have been on the hunt for chicken potstickers since I got here in December and I was overjoyed & totally blown away by their chicken gyoza, it is the most authentic I have eaten since I was a kid visiting Japan 🥰 Must try if you are in the neighborhood! They'll have their liquor license when they officially open in February (we lucked out and went in during their soft open). Without a doubt, the BEST ambience of any restaurant I've been to - 100% - because of the music! The surround system is incredible, the music choices were just right + the sound was set perfectly so that you could enjoy it while still being able to have a conversation at your table (and most importantly, without hearing every word of the table next to you). I seriously wish every dining experience...

The spot is cute well air-conditioned, with nice lighting. We ordered edamame, California roll, Godzilla roll, Rainbow roll, and Spicy Tuna Hand roll. We went on a Tuesday evening and the women in the front who sat us down, took our order and took care of us, was AMAZING. She ran around making sure everyone was taken care of. She killed it at her job. The issue was that the kitchen took really long. We waited 1 hour for our food, and to be honest it wasn‘t worth the wait. The lady who took care of us did warn us about it and we took our chances. They were clearly understaffed but overall it was an average visit. I’m sure I would have rated it a 4 had food been faster. I do have to add that accessing the menu is really frustrating. It isn’t user friendly.

Amazing experience! We had 5 basic rolls~ so delicious, the flavors were fresh and distinctive, the rolls were PACKED. The miso soup was great, I don’t love mushrooms but something about that soup made me wanna fiend for more. The Blueberry-Lavender tea was so tasty and combined with the wonderfully entertaining service truly made for an excellent night out. The mochi we were served was also so divine, we had chocolate and matcha, they were so creamy and the dough was the perfect texture. Even the fruit accents on the dishes were juicy and fresh! Our bill came to about $70+ and imho it was definitely worth it, I can’t wait to go back!

This restaurant is such a gem, as are its new owners! Every time we visit, they provide the best service and the best sushi. Everything is fresh, and they go out of their way to shop locally and organic - that’s a high price of groceries, and yet I don’t see a higher price than other restaurants that don’t take as much care. If you haven’t been here in a while, it is absolutely worth checking out again. The menu has been refreshed, and everything from the appetizers to soup to nigiri to sashimi to sushi rolls are perfectly done. And the dessert at the end is such a special touch!
