Tan Dinh is a good place to visit for a very affordable meal. I used to visit when it was a different owner almost a decade ago now probably, but have not been back since the new owners set up shop. I visited on a Friday morning around 9am and was the only customer. Because it was early there was not a lot of hot food to choose from but they did have the packages of rice noodles, spring rolls, and desserts available. I ended up going for the pork banh mi. It’s cheaper than the other Vietnamese delis that I’ve visited at $3.50. The sandwich was pretty good. The bread was pretty decent and the daikon and carrots were nicely acidic. The pork was the best part. It was caramelized in places and had a good balance of salt, sweet, and richness. I would return because I’m interested in seeing what they have to offer in terms of hot food.

The bread is one step away from being a crouton ( dry and old). I asked for no cilantro and they honor that request. The pork meat is on the lean side which I like but not for everyone. There were two inedible gristle pieces. Banh Mi 2.25/5 Iced coffee ( ca phe sua da): 4/5 Egg rolls 3.25/5 The coffee was pre-made ( espresso part and condensed milk sitting in cups in room temperature). The egg rolls don't come with any sauce. They felt heavy on the taro, wish there was more meat, black fungus or even shrimp since it wasn't too flavorful. Parking is a little tricky in this hidden/ random street of little saigon. They accept credit cards and would say owner was friendlier than other shops in the area

Freshly fried Garlic chicken wings, packaged mixed fried rice (pork, chicken, shrimp, and sausage), pork lumpia, & shrimp chips. See pics! Went early, so not all dishes were out yet. Yet, I asked for the fried chicken & BAM! They went out of their way to make it. The garlic saturated my car (No complaints about that!). Got 3 bags of shrimp chips. Extra crispy and well fried. Not soaked in oil at all. Next time, I'll be sure to check this place out at 11a.m., when all the goodies (food) come out on display. Decent price for amount of food. Worth a checking out for a quick meal.

TLDR: Good food, great value, friendly owner.

I try to use a sliding relative scale when it comes to the venue. Tan Dinh hits a lot of 5 stars for me that keeps me coming back. The food is a great value and it tastes really good. Its one of these places that I enjoy the food and will always buy more for an extra meal. The chicken wings are good. Like the unsauced more than the sauced. Sandwiches are tasty, I have others I like more but it doesn't stop me from getting one every month like clock work. Did get to try a papaya salad once (think it was a one time leftovers from catering thing) which was really good. Parking is tricky in the lot (big dip/drop), would recommend you park...
