I'm grateful for everybody I met at Koyasan temple. It was an informative and relaxing visit. The chanting and the surrounding soothed my soul, calmed my mind. Sun service starting at 12pm is a plus. Sensei and all monks welcome attendees to join group for a light lunch after service which was a pleasant surprise. Every single detail is simple, elegant, yet well taken care of. People is so kind and the vibe resembles Buddhism temples I visited in Japan. I'm excited to be able to get the omamories (blessed Japanese mullets for luck and protection) here as well. Every month on the last Sun, Koyasan Temple hosts Goma fire ceremony (sacred ritual to purify, remove obstacles and negativity). Check out Koyasan website for schedules, classes, meditation sessions and come visit.

Love this temple , master and yoga teacher. The environment is quite nice and make you calm down as soon as you walk in. The master monk welcome any people from different background.

The students at the John Volken Academy were invited to attend a meditation session at the Seattle Koyasan Buddhist Temple. Head Priest Taijo Imanaka was very welcoming to our group. This temple is very focused on healing and providing positive experiences for the community. Rev. Taijo Imanaka provided an explanation of meditation and the Buddhist Religion that was very understandable and informative. We are very grateful for his invitation and providing the students with this opportunity. He was able to answer all questions that we had and we thank him for his welcoming and caring nature. We would highly recommend this temple to anyone interesting in discovering the power of meditation and/or the Buddhist religion. We look forward to attending again...

This international congregation is very welcoming and kind. Most importantly to me, I can tell on my first visit that everyone I met is on a path of growth. Taijo-sensei, the lead priest, explained their good works, cooperative relationships with other communities, and plans to make more positive impact around the Puget Sound.

Today for Buddha's birthday, they hosted a tea celebration where I met Americans, Japanese, internationals, even visiting monks from a local Vietnamese Buddhist temple. I look forward to returning for meditation practice...
