5★ park. Where can you find a jungle playground for kids & an exercise route so close to Capitol Hill? Photos speak for the well maintained park. Could use some cleaning up, but these pics were taken early morning. We all know lots happen at night. (Lol!) Nor sure why some are docking this park for having its water fountain off "because of covid". It's covid, why give a low rating. (???) Anyways, take your family here early and enjoy the grounds. Take a soccer ball along and play on the mini field. There's a basketball court too. Great views!!! I've passed by here afternoon & evening. Can get packed. Enjoy this park early in the day (Photos taken 830am on a Sunday). Enjoy! 5★s

A new playground and park with play equipment to challenge toddlers to young kids. If your child loves climbing, s/he'll thoroughly enjoy the rope courses at the playground. Beautiful scenery for adults, with wonderful views of the stadiums, the Olympic mountains, and ships arriving at the Seattle Port (tip: bring a pair of binoculars). There is a small soccer field, and a basketball court too. So if you've got bigger kids, don't forget to bring a (soccer or basket) ball. Restrooms are available at the community center building beside the playground. Street parking at the bottom though public transport is easy and accessible with a streetcar and bus stops a short walk away.

Yesler Terrace is undergoing a massive renovation. Many large new apartments are being built on the hill East and South of downtown Seattle. Tucked next to the community center is a small park. There are a couple of rides for younger kids, a slide and climbing apparatus. I would say the rides are for kids under 6. The park is built into the hillside and has some great views of the two stadiums and the industrial area. There are even a couple of telescopes for the kids to survey the views. My grandkids are 6&8 so the rides didn't hold their attention long. But the hills covered by artificial turf did. We brought kid sized pieces of cardboard and they slid down the short hills of AstroTurf.

They eagerly ran up the hill and slid down backwards, forward and sideways. They tried a tandem but that was less successful.

There is a danger of burns from the AstroTurf if they slide off the cardboard on the way down. They soon learned to hold onto the lip of cardboard so they didn't slip off.

So this park has a narrow appeal. It's small so no room for frisbee or dogs. There is a small enclosed area for soccer and a basketball hoop for older kids. There is no parking lot but we found street parking...

Watch out - theives here

Short story, I accidentally left my phone at the front desk of the Yesler Terrace Community center for maybe 1 minute. I walked about 200 feet, realized I had left it on the counter, walked back down the hallway, and it was already gone. As was one of the front desk staff. The other person working there denied they had seen it. But she also wouldn't give me her co-worker's name, saying it was their first time working together. Sure, that's it.

Look, my fault for not being 100% on topnofy belongings in such a place.

But be advised, this is the kind of place where your stuff will get stolen in 30 seconds or less. It's not the kind of place where people are going to say, "oh, is...
