I've lived in the neighborhood for the last 3 years and was sad to see Tubes Subs leave, but we were very happy to see a new Mexican restaurant take it's place. This place is great. The service is always fantastic and the staff is very friendly. They have a large menu so it might be overwhelming at first but they have all the classics and then some. The atmosphere is bright, casual, clean and freshly painted with booths along the walls. The food is the real reason you're here. Seattle is a tricky city for Mexican food. Toojust okay, overly expensive for what you get, or more similar to fast food. This place sits right in between. The food is always great, fresh, and full of flavor. I was ecstatic to see birria (tacos or burrito) on the menu as it's something that's hard to find in Seattle. It's a favorite of mine. They have plenty of options, for vegetarians as well. Needless to say this has become a local...
Read moreExtremely overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you get. Probably the worst meal I have had in this city. Burrito will come out to about 20 dollars after tax and while it looks huge that is because it is very loosely rolled and served smothered, so you're not actually picking up a densely packed burrito. The pico had no freshness, the carne asada was jerky dry, the rice was hard in multiple spots. Even worse, the overall flavor just wasn't there. It was very reminiscent of an Italian dish like spaghetti or chicken Parmesan, absolutely not flavors I want in my Mexican cuisine. Would not recommend. The service was friendly enough but the food was very, very bad, unfortunately the poorest Mexican I have received in Seattle - and at the highest price. You will spend less at every single Mexican restaurant nearby and get better food at...
Read moreRecently opened (took over location Tub's moved from). This is their second location after many years in the Greenwood neighborhood. Food was always good at the other location an the transition here seems to hold true on quality and taste.
The only negative aspect I can think of is related to available parking. Here they share a small lot with 4 other businesses so it can be a bit tricky/full at times with it on Lake City Way.
Note: Unlike at Greenwood, this location does not feature a separate bar area. An as a follow-up to that, since they just opened they are not yet serving alcohol (however it sounds like they may have just gotten the license to do so).
Enough with all that. Just go and try the place out. You will go back.
