I have had pho at probably over 100 restaurants in California and Washington. It's hard to choose the best bowl.
But the worst is easy.
This place.
The broth tasted of nothing but salt. No herbs or aromatics. Not beef. Just saltwater.
The beef (tai) smelled like it had been sitting out too long and once cooked in the soup tasted funny. I didn't eat it.
The brisket tasted old, like the inside of a refrigerator.
The bean sprouts were brown and slimy.
They didn't bother to pick the cilantro off the stems.
The noodles were overcooked mush.
I only regret I got it to go because I would have loved to ask the waiter or cook to try it and tell me if they thought anything about this pho was remotely acceptable.
Purely disgusting. I have no idea if this was a bad night or not because I will...
Read morePho is my favorite food. Every time I come to Seattle I force my family to eat pho with me. We only went here because in our group we had some folks who wanted Teriyaki. Both dishes were literally the worst we've had at a restaurant. I'm 99% sure the pho comes purely from a concentrate since my broth separated into clear+colorless and cloudy portions. Very salty, no depth of flavor. The Teriyaki was just chicken with a sauce poured over top not marinated and properly grilled. Service was a 4 since they gave us free gyoza for my kids, was very sweet of them.
Is this place a money laundering front or something? 🤣 it's actually that bad. You'd think that since it's clearly a hole in the wall the food would need to be fire, but no.
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE GOOD PHO...
Read moreMy husband has been a faithful patron and I understand why. It wasn't the best brisket pho I've ever had but it definitely hit the spot. The broth was a little bland and the brisket was a little on the lean side but still tender. I personally need a little fat for flavor. I also liked that the toppings were set up buffet style. Sometimes you need one more lime or a little more cilantro and could do without the jalapenos. If you're ok with a basic bowl of pho then there's no reason not to go here. Oh, and because my husband hasn't been in for a while, they brought us each a complimentary gyoza... it was amazing! Crispy not chewy or soggy and the filling was perfectly seasoned. Definitely have to order...
