I tried to be patient w the staff here but im done they are rude Tmand don't speak English well or ar least they pretend not to They refused to let us dine 49 min bfr closing ?? Offered to go but I refused n went next door to tamarind tree instead. On other occasion they talked crap about me becuz i guess i asked to many questions about the menu n pricing n beware their menu prices doesnt match the receipt questions ...I'm half vietnamese n I understand what they are saying. But my last straw w this place was couple weeks ago when my mother who's is in her 80s n vietnamese, asked for cilantro/ngo w her duck soup n they refused to give it to her why?? Seriously it's such an inexpensive herb n they were rude about it too. We have dealt w their rudeness n unprofessionalism for the last time !! honestly we remained loyal patrons since they have opened only becuz the food is good n my mom doesn't like changes. But aftr that last incident we won't be going back!!. Spend your money next door at tamirand tree the food is just as good, the staff are friendly, professional , n speak English well. Their atmosphere n cleanliness is so much better than here especially the bathrooms which i believe some1 took a phot of in their review. In addition the prices here are now almost or equivelant to the tamirand tree so not...
Read moreI wish I could give Vietnam House a higher rating as their rice dishes are delicious and they're one of the few places in the area that serve Banh Xeo! Unfortunately, their service is prettttty bad.
We came here as a group of 8 for lunch and it was pretty packed. Everything went well at first - clean interior, quick service (at first) and a good parking lot. However, after we got our food (which kind of took awhile), one of my friends didn't get their dish. We notified a waiter and they said they'll work on it. 10 mins later and everyones' almost done with their food AND THE ORDER STILL DIDN'T ARRIVE. We notify the front desk to see what's going on... it's literally just a rice dish. Wait a little more and decide to just cancel it because it was probably never going to come...
The food itself was pretty good and cheap, but the fact that they ruined a meal (and possibly his day) for my friend just speaks to how bad the service here is, as mentioned by multiple other reviews. They don't seem to care for customer service and acknowledging problems that they caused.
If you can look pass the bad service, I'd recommend coming if you have a small party where it's near impossible to mess up your order, but if you have a larger party I'd look elsewhere. The food is good but there's a ton of good Vietnamese options...
Read moreI normally don't write reviews for Vietnamese restaurants unless it's above average of really terrible. The different dishes i had at this place ( bun bo hue, chao, banh xeo) were pretty average.. Nothing to write home about, so i won't bother with them. But the one thing i think they do well here is their charbroiled meat, which is served with their com tam (broken rice) dishes and bun / banh hoi dishes. I took my mom here for her first time last week and she thoroughly enjoyed her com tam broken rice combo. This is "momentous" as my mom rarely raves about anything and always says "i cook better than this at home" to most dishes we have at other restaurants. I know that this place is also known for their banh hoi thap cam. But i personally think this dish is overpriced at $16. No Vietnamese restaurant in town charges that much. The portion is also small. Nothing compared to the portions at Huong Binh. The broken rice combo is a much better deal and it's this dish that i grant this place a 4-star. P.s., i did not care for their bun bo hue as it lacks a degree of spiciness, and there was also no pig knuckles!! -- these are two of the main features of this dish. Very disappointed and would not recommend this dish here. Hoang Lan is still the best place for bun bo hue. I should just stop having bun...
