I placed an online order for my family of 12 people around 4 PM the other day and they open at 5 PM. The pickup time I requested was 5:30PM.
Around 4:45 PM I got a call from someone at the restaurant saying that they’re going to need more time to fill the order (which is totally reasonable) but they said that the order wouldn’t be ready till 7:30 PM. They said the reason for this is because they had some other online orders that they needed to fill, but that if they worked on our order it would put them behind for other orders. I don’t believe they had so many orders before they even open that they couldn’t start our order when they opened, but it was clear that they wanted to have kitchen capacity for dining, in addition to other takeout orders. Pushing pick up almost 2 hours seemed a little bit unreasonable to me but regardless we were happy to wait until that time to pick it up.
At 6:30 PM we gave them a call and asked whether the food would be ready closer to 7 PM or 7:30 and we were told that they were just starting the order and it would be ready at 7. This was of course shocking because this means they only needed 30 minutes to make our order yet they told us we couldn’t pick it up for over 2 hours after we requested? Seems like we just got penalized just because we had a bigger order? That’s not how restaurant take-out should be.
The customer service when we went to pick up the food and paid was not particularly good at all. No thank you or any pleasantries when we just spent a ton of money on a huge order that we waited over 2 1/2 hours for.
I won’t spend this much money at an establishment that doesn’t want my...
Read moreThis has now become a date night location, and we're going down the menu to try more dishes. The namaste lamb curry with butter naan and saffron rice hit the spot.
We started off with the kale pakoras, cucumber salad, and lentil soup. And chai, always have to get chai. Everything came out hot (temperature wise, the cucumber salad was chilled) and the timing was perfect. I can't express enough how good the naan was.
It was crowded, but not packed on a Friday evening. Conversations could be overheard. It was more of a casual dining experience than a candle lit dinner. I'll gladly return to try...
