Initially very excited about an authentic Peruvian option in town. However it did not deliver to the expectations to be honest. Upon entering the decor/atmosphere was just not there. Way too many open and wasted spaces. The food was no different. The ceviche was actually pretty good. We ordered 2 different types and both were really tasty and would actually consider going back for seconds. Nevertheless, that was not the same faith when it comes to the chaufas. We ordered 2 different chaufas and the original flavor wasnât there. They just tasted different and not in a good way compared to multiple Peruvian restaurants weâve visit. Furthermore, Peruvian cuisine is very rich and varied in options and this menu was lacking then. Very limited menu options in my opinion. On a positive note, our server has phenomenal! His service and attitude were on point. Unfortunately the kitchen and back of house were not on the same wavelength because every single plate was served at a different time. Itâs like they only had one range back there and each one had to be cooked separately one after another. Therefore by the time we got the 4th and last plate to the table the first one was already done by one of our parties and the second and third who decided to wait for all the food to be on the table were already cold. Very disappointing to be honest. Hopefully they will improve as it seems like a nice option to...
Read moreMy family and I came here for my birthday dinner. I like it here because the food is good but I have had problems with service (or lack of it) in the past. But for my birthday, I wanted to give them one last shot.
There were one or two other tables with customers, so it wasn't busy. It took over an hour to get our food. The waiters kept saying every 10 minutes that it's going to be soon.
Then my food came out, but no one else's. They said it'll be right out for everyone else. Another 10 or so minutes come by, and finally, a few more dishes, but not everyone's. Then the waitress had the gall to tell my sister (after food had already been served, and after an hour of being there) that they ran out of her food. What were they doing in the kitchen? It took them an hour to say that, and while most of the food was served. If you don't have a dish, say it at the beginning, not while food is being served. Then, we wait another 10 minutes for my dad's food.
We came at 7 and had reservations for dessert at another place at 8:15, and we were late at our next stop with reservations.
I have given Peru Fresh too many chances, and that was my last one. One time, they ran out of food, once the grill wasn't working, and once it was open at 7 and there was not one person in there. My husband and I waited for 5 minutes but had no service and left.
This is a shame because the food...
Read moreI wish I would have read the review from 2 weeks ago before walking through the door. Unfortunately, I fell for the same exact trap. Sat down with a party of 5 for dinner. The server took our drink orders and later returned for our food orders. We ordered our food and waited. 45 minutes later, 1 of the 5 dishes ordered came out. 15 minutes after that, another 2 dishes came out. 15 minutes after that, 1 more dish came out. Then we waited about 20 minutes and the server assured us, "the last plate is coming out in 5 minutes". Another 25 minutes went by, when I made a gesture to the server, she heads to the kitchen and comes back only to say, "I'm so sorry, but the kitchen ran out of rice and we weren't able to make your dish". This is literally after waiting an hour and a half. My question is this, HOW does a restaurant who's menu is 70% rice dishes run out of rice? And if you were having issues, why didn't you approach us initially and tell us before we even ordered? First and last time I will go to this establishment. The only bright spot was Rosie, the bar manager. She was very attentive and apologetic, and should not be included in this review. I hope she finds another place to work, because she deserves to be somewhere that will value her service and take care of their customers. Because from what I can see, this place won't last...
