Disappointed is an understatement. We have lived in security in the past, so when we were in the area to pick up family from the airport, we thought it would be a great place to support. Worth a mention, my husband and I worked in the service industry for over a decade and understand how busy nights go. It wasn't just that this restaurant was severely understaffed, (2 servers for in and outside seating) it was the total lack of communication and rude response received after we had waited VERY PATIENTLY and kindly for over an hour for a salad, then another half hour for two burgers, fish and chips, with a salmon bowl. We arrived at 7:23 and saw the restaurant was busy, but it had died down exponentially within 30-40 minutes of us sitting down. We saw numerous tables that walked in after us receive their food first before I even got my salad, at one hour and twenty-ish minutes. We had seen our server walk by multiple times, but her and no manager in sight were there addressing the wait, or giving us a realistic eta. A table that was sat after us with another server got their salad 10 minutes after sitting down. That server looked like they knew what they were doing. So maybe our waitress forget to put in our food???? Maybe but we wouldn't know bc when my husband asked if we could get my salad after such a long wait for everything, as I am 7 months pregnant and my blood sugar was dropping and I didn't feel great- the server responds "yeah its a little busy" as she walks away. There were only 4 tables other than us left after the rush left at least half hour before this. My sons lemonade, my husband's sprite and my step dad's soda should have been comped...or the salad but honestly at least should have tried to make it right at least by being kind, or let us know what was happening for a quick second. We are the nicest people, in a tough circumstance NEVER needing food this bad, but the fact our server walked by the table next to us multiple times to ask how they were, without talking to us was wild. We could have never anticipated this kind of treatment. After an hour we were watching the window and the server did come up to us saying there was one ticket in front of ours - then would be out, but why???? Then we waited an additional 35 minutes from THAT notice. Now to the food - the salmon was good, the rice, onions and peppers were mediocre/greasy. My husband and step dad ordered burgers and once received, realized they were not asked about temp when ordering. (Nor did our server give her name). They were well done and the cheese crisp on my husband's burger was so tough you could not chew through it. The flavor was there, and the fries, although old - were good (3 sides of the table were FF). Fish and chips were tasty according to my son. When the food was finally served, he asked for ketchup (asked for a side when ordering, too) in which we did not get within several minutes so my husband had to ask a nearby table who had 3 bottles, if we could grab one of theirs. My son was an ANGEL not causing any issues but was definitely restless. We felt we were burdening her for asking if we could get at least my salad after so long. Like this wasn't her job, and we were being unreasonable. INFURIATING. We waited an hour and a half for food total and that is insane. We walked in there at 7:23 and didn't leave until 9:24 and when we got our $100 bill, and gave our card - that was the quickest service we had all night. Conveniently when it was time to pay. I have NEVER tipped under 20% in my life but tonight we gave 16% which for the first time, felt generous. This was poorly handled. We know what it's like to be busy and understaffed but it was unacceptable service and a manager was never once present. We will NEVER be back regardless who reaches out or if anything is ever done. We had an hour and a half drive home and I cannot believe the food, or the service we for got that price. Officialy the worst experience we have ever had...
Read moreUpdate(TL;DR) My review still stands, STRONG!!! So, as both a guilty pleasure, to be (finally) able to get my burgers cooked the right way, I did a little "Experiment." We tried them 4 times in 2 weeks... Both because they are fabulous, But: I don't know if many people are aware, and who use(d) delivery services, or find a favorite menu item, that at first were amazing, then you get it again, only to find out that it wasn't great, like the first (or many) time. So, - ALL 4 orders, different days/nights, different servers (all exceptional), and each time, no kidding they were the same quality, same cooked to order, delicious, hot, FRESH, "Homemade!" Tony and his "crew," have impressed us so much, it is OUR favorite restaurant, (and they are family-oriented, and give a Military discount. GO .... NOW!!! (obtw: even on nights when they were slammed, we got our to-go order in 10 minutes!!! **You have to go and try for yourselves!!!!
ORIGINAL POST: I have had the most incredible dining experiences at this restaurant! The food was delicious - every dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, Homemade, even their salad dressings, and bar drinks (finally, someone who knows how to make an exceptional Bloody Mary (it's nearly impossible to find a gem of a restaurant that DOES NOT use pre-made food or alcohol!) Also, I have been to every type of "Burger Restaurant & NOT ONE of them EVER has made a medium rare hamburger... Theirs are so exceptional that, I think we have gotten them 3×'s in one week! I love the service: Every time I have been there, you can see the owner, and chef busting his behind to make every single dining experience as perfect as possible - Tony, the owner, has opened, owned, and/or run 46 SUCCESSFUL restaurants - and most people don't even realize that he IS the owner! Since the Local Table has opened, we have tried all kinds of different items. All of his food is upscale without the "Ego," or arrogance, or super expensive. Their ambiance is very nice, relaxed, and family-oriented. We also love that over time he has had different menu items...Along with the gripe of not finding an amazing burger, it is also IMPOSSIBLE to find True Buffalo Wings, there are several Wing places around, that call some of their wings, "Buffalo," which are made with both butter & Vinegar in their sauces...I would LOVE to see Wings, and other "bar food options: Fried Mushrooms, Fried Zucchini, and similar items, and a few others because I already know in advance that EVERY single item they make is just phenomenal! Also, Desiree, Neavah, and Destiny are: hands down one of the best servers I have EVER had! They are attentive, and knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable. I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. Definitely a new favorite spot! And, thank you for having the ONLY (REAL) restaurant in our Security, widefield, & fountain areas! Finally, I will continue to order, and to dine in with friends & family!! AND: recommend ALL of you to go give them a try, i promise they never disappoint us, and we are all...
Read moreI have talked to the Local Table on Facebook a couple of times and this morning we were out looking for breakfast and everywhere we went , the restaurants were 1 hour waiting lines
We saw that The Local Table was available after checking out the food trucks in Big R parking lots.
The service and food was great. The service was attentive but not pushy. The atmosphere is cozy with open seating and great for reutilizing a retired Pizza Hut building.
Parking was easy also if you have t been there try it out.
Now the most important part: the FOOD.
I have been in the Springs for three years (formally Washington DC DMV, area) and I have only had an eating experience 1 time of thinking, I got to come back! [Greek restaurant in Old Town CS] The Local Table was lick your plate good. Even my eating partner was excited over the food.
He had a normally simple item , biscuits and gravy, and I had a smoked omelette. I can’t remember the exact name, but I’m bad at him so forgive me. After eating, he discussed the quality of the food and he was amazed at the complex tastes of the chorizo gravy and how he was impressed and how good the food was the potatoes were awesome the gravy, yummy biscuits, soft even though they were covered delicious drizzle . I had the smoked omelette that was really great. Potatoes were so awesome crunchy but soft in the middle lots of onions and other spices that made it very flavorful.
I don’t know if it was just today. I haven’t eaten western food for such a long time ( just returned from Asia for a month) or it was just that good !! so I’m gonna have to go back and try again confirm or deny if this food was really that great.
I forgot to mention cost. I thought very reasonable for the quality, taste, and...
