Read moreMy son loves the movie "Cars." So much so, that we decided to do a trip just for him. Our mission: Travel down to Disneyland to see Radiator Springs, then travel Route 66 to see several cities mentioned in the song "Route 66," culminating in visiting the Grand Canyon. On our way back from the Grand Canyon, we decided to stop by The Roadkill Cafe for dinner before a 4.5 hour drive to the next hotel we'd be staying at.
We dropped into the cafe, and were warmly greeted and seated quite quickly. Our orders were taken as soon as we were ready, and before we knew it, dinner was served. I had gotten the ribs, and my kiddo wanted to sit by me. All good, except he wanted to play with my watch, and the ribs were so messy, that it made more sense to take off my watch rather than keep trying to stop the kiddo. Well, the ribs were so damn good that I had completely forgotten about my watch. I cleaned up with the provided Wet Nap (the details!), and ate the chocolate pie. Holy crap it was so tasty. By the end, I was in a daze at the deliciousness. I tipped 20% (would have been more if I wasn't poor!) and cleaned up.
Queue to 4.5 hours later. I realize I have forgotten my watch, and we're in California. I used an app to find my watch, and found it was just sitting at the cafe. The next morning at 8am sharp, I gave a call to the cafe, and was answered immediately. I explained the situation I had put myself in, and the lady found my watch immediately. The first thing that they offered was to ship my watch to me. I was surprised as I would usually have to plead with someone to do this. Nope, this was the default offer. The next day, they offered to add insurance to the shipping too. I declined, and the watch was shipped. Yesterday I received the watch, and as you can see by the picture, the watch was nicely packaged and was working perfectly!
Amazing service, above and beyond attitude with no thought of repayment, DELICIOUS RIBS... These folks have real heart. Highly recommended if you're ANYWHERE near them on your journey. Thanks Roadkill Cafe for the food, the atmosphere, the warmth, and when I needed you, snapping into action. Y'all...

Roadkill Cafe’ / Ok Saloon Route 66 Seligman, Arizona
We typically visit Seligman twice a year when we are on vacation in Laughlin, Nevada, and have eaten at most places in Seligman. One particular place we have never eaten at was the Roadkill Cafe, mostly because we have already eaten in Laughlin or Kingman, Arizona. This trip we decided to eat there on our way back from our Road Trip. One other reason we wanted to eat here is because @Debbie Pope Mejia is a member of three Route 66 Facebook groups we manage and we have Featured her restaurant as a "Featured Route 66 Business Of The Week" in two of our Groups.
We had a great meal at Roadkill cafe / Ok saloon and an excellent first impression. We were greeted immediately. They have delicious meals with large portions. We actually had to have a to go box. The service was excellent, and the servers were attentive. Both Betty and Autumn were great. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the servers were all attentive to the guest.
You should definitely check out the saloon and the gift shop. Lots of great merchandise. We bought a few magnets and some...
