If you have a Celiac condition BEWARE - SERIOUSLY!
My wife has a severe celiac condition which means if she eats food containing gluten, the result will be excruciating colitis, which lasts for days. We were looking at houses in the Senioa area this past Sunday 6/22/25 and decided to try Nic & Norman’s. We explained to our server in detail that my wife has severe food allergies, and she assured us that the gluten free hamburger bun / Pimento burger and twisted fries were gluten free. Obviously not true. We finished eating and were on our way home when my wife began getting severe stomach cramps. We made it home just in time for her to begin vomiting and having diarrhea. Her stomach pain was so intense she had tears running down her face screaming and began passing out against the bathroom wall while sitting on the toilet. I had to call 911 and she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. She had to be given morphine many times for the excruciating pain, and IVs due to severe dehydration from vomiting and diarrhea. They performed a CAT scan which confirmed colitis caused by gluten intake. We were at the hospital until 3am trying to get her pain under control with oral pain medication. These will be the most painful and expensive hamburgers we have ever eaten. I spoke with the store manager on Tuesday 6/24/25, and she politely apologized for the situation and said she would try to figure out what happened. She offered to refund our $52.30 for the 2 hamburgers & fries, which I do appreciate, but it’s unknown at this time how much we will be out of pocket for the ambulance and hospital bills. She told me the branch manager would call me later that day or the next day, but they never did. Apparently my wife’s excruciating pain and our ambulance and hospital bills don’t warrant a call from the branch manager. It’s horrible and terrifying that you can’t trust that a restaurant will respect and acknowledge a person’s medical allergies knowing that they can possibly kill someone with gluten, nuts, or other allergens. Eat here at your own risk. I’m giving 1 star based on the neglect of the restaurant serving food with gluten, my wife’s excruciating pain, and the numerous medical bills we will incur in the near future, and the fact that the branch manager didn’t care to call us after the store manager...
Read moreAs a local, this was my third try and my last. The atmosphere and design is certainly lovely. That does not make up for the fact that the service staff is not well trained and the food is mediocre at best. This last experience for us started out bad from the reservation mix-up all the way to the end when the waitress gave us our check early because she was so busy and had "20 drinks to make". The staff all appear to be young and inexperienced without sufficient training in how to behave. The customer does not want to feel like they are a burden to you. Having your waitress constantly tell you how overwhelmed she is and also how she hasn't really tried much of anything on the menu so couldn't make recommendations past the burger is very poor training. The drinks have are too expensive and too sweet with the smallest amount of alcohol. I'm not sure if a few of them had any liquor at all. Having to ask for napkins, eating utensils, and plates is ridiculous. The food, wow, microwaved chicken breast that was so tough and rubbery it was difficult to chew. Brisket nachos that arrived without brisket and when we told the waitress she called out to a passing waitress to go grab her bowl of brisket that we then got to just dump on top of the nachos. Chicken Pot Pie that was mushy and looked like it had been dumped out of a can with a dry burnt biscuit plopped on top. Even the one dish that looked good only had mediocre flavor. We were there for my husbands birthday, which I stated in our reservation, but not one staff member mentioned it. The restaurant was only about half full, not surprising, so I can't imagine why our waitress was so burdened other than the fact she was inexperienced and poorly trained. Places like this survive for two reasons, people love the actors that own them and they are mostly frequented by tourists. It's just a...
Read moreTook a road trip to Georgia this week and upon arriving in Senoia, Nic and Normans was our first stop for a drink, appetizer, and to establish our game plan. This was our second time here, being that I'm a huge Walking Dead fan (but in no way did that affect my review.)
We got the pickle fries and they were crispy and very good. My wife also had a Bloody Nicotero that she thought was a little strong but she liked a lot. Our server Lindsey was friendly, asked us where we were from, and then a conversation about NJ and possibly moving to Georgia ensued. Later, after we found a hotel, we came back for dinner and Lindsey was our server again. She was hospitable, accommodating, and brought everything out in a timely manner.
I had a Norman's Blind Squirrel cocktail which was made perfectly and a Classic Burger with swiss cheese and sweet potato fries with a side of bbq sauce. The bbq sauce was the best I've ever tasted and went well with the fries, which were hot and fresh. The burger was juicy and flavorful. It was the kind of meal that, even when you are full, you can't help but keep eating. And keep eating I did lol.
My wife had the Coca-Cola Braised Pork Shank with sweet corn over mashed potatoes. It was delicious fall-off-the-bone pork. She was very pleased with her meal as well.
I wish we would've had room for dessert but like I said, the food was delicious and very filling making it hard to save room lol. There's always next time- I know we'll be back.
I recommend this place if you're in the mood for top notch pub food with drinks. Being a Walking Dead fan definitely adds to the atmosphere and excitement but you don't have to be to enjoy the food and hospitality of the staff....
