I was thrilled to see middle eastern food come to Sequim and I really wanted to love this place but was a bit disappointed by my first experience. My friend and I ordered plates that included chicken kabobs, rice, lettuce and a side of hummus. It appeared the chicken may not have been defrosted in time for our order and I saw the owner go back to the kitchen and run hot water over the supply that she needed. When our orders arrived, it appeared the same white sauce had been poured over all three items on the plate. The chicken was a bit hard and the rice was mushy. Additionally I think the health department will have some issues due to the fact that one of the sons who had just come back from the grocery store was tearing up lettuce at the front counter within feet of counter sitters and the cash till and was doing so without gloves. I do have to say that the pita bread served with the meal was warm and delicious, and the hummus was nice as well. I will give it another try in the future and hope for better...
Read moreI didn't even think this place was even still open bcuz every time I drive by, it's closed. Now I know why, they only open 5 hours a day & are closed 2 days a week. I see on their FB page that they are frequently re-opening after being closed for a period of time. This place should be booming bcuz they seem to be the only place that has middle eastern food in the area. But it doesn't seem that way. It takes more than decent food to make a successful business. You have to include good courteous customer service, reasonable prices, and be willing to sacrifice personal time to be available to the public. I see that they've scaled down the menu and raised prices considerably. I'm going on my only visit about 4 years or so ago, when I first moved here. Maybe things have changed for the better. I would like to go back and find out if I could make it in during the...
Read moreWe decided to choose this cafe based on good reviews. Gyros plate was good not exciting but good. Our biggest mistake was taking lamb shawarma and lamb kebab, but we discovered it only at the hotel. Meat was super soury. We have called to cafe asking if it is OK. They said they were short with lamb by the end of the day. So they used lamb marinated in vinegar this morning, which is not typical for them because normally it takes 24 hrs. I said I need something for my son because he can't eat it. They said probably you won't like all meat because it makes the same way. I said if all meat are the same I want to return shawarma and get money back. They refused. It's not right. Bad service. Not following cooking/precooking conditions....
