I've never been much of a donut fan, but man do I love Haute Donuts. In the past, I avoided donuts because they're too sweet, too rich. As an amateur baker, I was intrigued when I saw another customer eating a tall donut. It wasn't wide, just tall. That could only mean one thing....they're laminating their donuts?! Oh, now I had to try it. I got a few options: the 50 layer lemon poppy seed, the passion fruit lime, and the vanilla bean glazed. The lemon poppy seed is reminiscent of a laminated beignet that has been rolled in sugar instead of powdered sugar, and filled to the brim with a lemon curd. There is nothing more disappointing than a filled donut that barely has any filling, and Haute Donuts made sure that every bite incorporated the bright, zesty lemon curd. I highly recommend for any lemon or tart lovers. This was my favorite donut. The passion fruit and lime donut was on what looked like a cinnamon roll base. I was surprised by how tender and moist the pastry was. It had flecks of lime baked throughout the donut. 9/10 because I would've preferred the passion fruit to be a bit stronger, but I'm blown away by how tender and fresh this donut was. A huge thing I'd like to add is that none of their icings are overly sweet. They deliver flavor, not sweetness. It doesn't feel like you're eating a fast food donut, but a well crafted artisan donut. The vanilla bean was similar to a traditional glazed donut, but again I cannot stress enough how light, fluffy, and fresh these baked goods are. It was well iced, but still less sweet than a fast food donut. Not to mention it's HUGE. Haute Donuts is a must try for anyone that loves donuts, craft...
Read moreI had a craving for an apple fritter so I headed to Haute Donuts. Unfortunately they didn't have them so I got a vanilla bean glazed donut and on a whim I ordered the 50 Layer Caramel Apple. The glazed donut was really good, very solid and very large. Much larger than your normal donut.
As for the 50 Layer Caramel Apple...my goodness! I was not prepared for how good this was. I have never been so happy that an establishment didn't have what I originally went there to get. 🤣 I don't know if I can explain how delicious this treat was, I almost don't want to say how good it was because I don't need any competition when I go to buy them. Lol. It's sooooo flaky and crispy and at the same time it's soft where it should be soft. The texture kind of reminds me of a croissant but a thousand times better and you know how good a croissant is, so that's saying a lot. It is covered in cinnamon sugar and topped with a frosting that is also amazing. The frosting flavor tastes like a combination or caramel and maybe cream cheese? I don't know what it is, but it is wonderful. It was so good that I went back the next day for 4 more. The service was great as well, very friendly, Haute Donuts definitely has a new...
Read moreFirst time trying this spot. And it didn’t disappoint. The donut flavors rotate daily. Pictured from top left clockwise in the box picture are the 50 layer double lemon, vanilla glaze, pecan swirl, and chocolate sprinkle. I tried a little of all and the crowd favorites were definitely the 50 layer and chocolate sprinkle. The 50 layer lemon was so flakey and tasty. Sweet with tart lemon filling. I recommend trying any of the layered donuts though because the texture was light yet dense ? Amazing. The chocolate sprinkle donut is definitely less sweet. It’s a plain (non glazed) donut with a dark chocolate frosting. Very different from the others we tried but so delicious ! also these donuts are huge ! Very filling and worth! ...
