My aunt knows I love a good coffee and told me about Moonflower Coffee Collective. I had been excited to try it for the past month or so and finally got the chance to stop in last Friday. It was an underwhelming experience at best. The woman who took my order is I believe the owner.. She wasn't necessarily rude, but was less than enthusiastic when I gushed over how cute the space was and how excited I was to give them a try. I follow the business on Instagram and saw the "Harvest Moon" drink and since that is right up my ally, that was what I ordered, as well as a pumpkin scone. The lady was short with me but told me my drink would be ready soon, so I stepped aside and waited for what is one of the worst coffees I have ever had. Two women came in after me and was greeted more sincerely and the woman who was just seemingly uninterested in speaking with me now wanted to chit chat and tell the ladies about some up coming events, food trucks, etc.. Now, I am a plus size woman, I certainly do not fit into standard vintage clothing, and I am not a stunningly beautiful human to look at.. My character makes up for what I lack in appearance. I'm sure that it wasn't a fat discrimination thing, but it certainly felt that way. Maybe a little self projection there, maybe not. I do know for certain that I wasn't made to feel super welcomed, when patrons after me were greeted much more sincerely.. In addition to not feeling super welcomed the real nail in the coffin for me was the coffee. It was literally nothing but MILK AND SYRUP!!! I couldn't even taste the espresso! 6 bucks for milk and syrup. I threw it away.. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It has always been my dream to open my own coffee shop/bookstore combo... I was so excited to visit a shop so similar to what I have envisioned for so long. My 12 dollar coffee and scone wouldn't have brought me back, but had the experience been better I would have given it another try. I don't believe I...
Read moreMy girlfriends and I went here after our morning walk. We had high hopes seeing as how the ambiance was cute and the coffee and food items looked good. However, we were disappointed entirely with the service.
You have to pay for a glass of (tap) water. You have to pay to refill black coffee. Not only that, our food was served way after our coffee was already cold or consumed entirely. And they forgot one of our friendsâ food, realized it was actually out of stock, and proceeded to just refund her without giving her the option to choose another item. One of our friends asked if there were gluten free options and was flatly confronted with âwe canât guarantee anythingâ.
Having worked in customer service, I may just be a little more sensitive to the different ways they could have handled their out of stocks, limited menu items, and fees for their drinks⊠however, I just wanted to share my experience because we all go to coffee shops for an easy cup of coffee and to have a good time with our friends. Moonflower just didnât...
Read moreI was excited to see another coffee shop opening in the Sharonville area so I had to give it a try. I ordered a latte that was pretty decent. It was a little bit heavy on the milk making it hard to taste much espresso or flavoring at all. I will have to give it another try to see how consistent they are.
The atmosphere is very inviting with lots of space to sit while enjoying a cup of coffee. They have a nice selection of baked goods and pastries.
Iâm not much of an art or clothing fan but they have a very well decorated space with a lot of it being for sale. I will definitely be back to give them...
