KFC — Restaurant in Shawnee

Hard to put into words how bad this location is. You can easily read the other posts going back years and nothing has gotten better or improved at all here at this KFC. From the floors always being sticky and the bathrooms seemingly are hardly ever clean and smell badly all the way to how the staff doesn’t seem to understand how to fill a simple order in a timely manner at all on multiple different visits.

I understand this is fast food and the employees are underpaid and over worked, and the turnover rate has got be significant. But with said all the issues that are at this one store must be addressed.

My most recent trip was simply to pick up an online order I placed through the KFC.com website. I placed my order online and arrived at this store 20 minutes later (when I was told my order would be ready) arrived at the store to find out they had no extra crispy chicken available and if I wanted it, I would have to wait another 16 or so minutes. Literally they waited for me to say yes or no to start cooking any new chicken. For the record it was 5:30pm and I’m pretty sure they knew they needed to cook more chicken as soon as possible for any pother customer as well as myself. The employee who was trying to explain why they had no chicken didn’t seem to know what was going on and seemed confused by the fact I would actually want the order I placed to be filled correctly.

After already giving them 20 + minutes to fill the order and with the prospect of having to wait anther 20 minutes or so, I asked to speak to a supervisor to cancel my order. Another employee came rushing around the corner very aggressively and said she was the manager and wanted to “know what my problem was”, I explained to her the issue and she was flippant and could obviously care less. I asked her to cancel my order and she said she couldn't and didn’t know how to. I asked her if there was someone, she could speak to who could explain how to do it and she grabbed a phone and placed a call. After less than 5 seconds she said it was busy and said there is nothing else for her to do.

I went online and found out that KFC does not do their own online ordering. Even though you log into KFC.com you are using Grubhub to place the order. I had to call them to cancel the order, which they did no problem.

I can say over the years I’ve tried this place multiple times. I can honestly say there has never been a single time I’ve gone here without some kind of problem. The most common is the fact they have no Chicken pot pies cooked and they say you must wait ½ hour for them to be done. (this has happened two different times in the last few years) A close second is the fact they give you the wrong food. You are actually pretty lucky to get the sides you ordered instead of whatever they decide to throw in your bag. Just down the street is one of the best chicken strip places in town...

We ordered a 16 pc all legs and thighs meal, with 2 -1/2 gallon dr.pepper and a 6 piece leg and thigh meal. We were told 13-15 minute wait. Almost 45 minutes later I went into the store ( we ordered in drive through) and was told my order was just being put together. Cue another 15 minute wait. Finally get the order... But it's not legs and thighs!! The employee grabs food out of the bucket no gloves on and informs me that piece is a breast... Eric the manager came out and told me that's what happens when you order in the app! Ummm we ordered in the drive through and are almost an hour in for 22 pieces of chicken!!! They then try again with little effort of course. One bucket of the cbicken is extra extra dark and inedible pretty sure it's burnt. The mac and cheese is so dry and been sitting there so long its crumbly and rubber, and the lovely just add water mashed potatoes didn't even get enough water as they are still full of dry potatoe mix!! My two half gallons of soda first came as 2 large sodas.... This place is a circus and the clowns have no idea theyre even working at KFC! Eric was kind enough to tell me I could call his regional or district manager on Monday, and that I could contact them by calling Human Resources, which he doesn't have a number for. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place AT ALL!!! They will take your money, have you wait an hoir and still not be able to get your order correct or prepped correctly!!! And Eric with his broken nose just doesn't care! There was 1 woman with 2 kids in the lobby, and one other vehicle in the drive through the whole hour they were busy not making our food! And Eric wanted me to understand they are super busy as he tells me this! There is one man waiting to order, and us still waiting for food..... I guess anything more than one cistomer in drive through or in lobby is too much for this location to handle!! DO BETTER!...

I went to try the new Cheeto sandwich. Well it was a horrible experience all the way around. I ordered the combo with mashed potatoes, and no mayo.

I watched the girl bag my dine in meal to go with wedges. I immediately addressed the wedges. She went back to dish up mashed potatoes in plain sight of the customers, and had to wait on the manager working an order ahead of her. While the manager was dishing up that order with her ungloved hands she dropped the sides dish, that had been sitting out on the counter, she was scooping the potatoes serving into in the tub of mashed potatoes in the steam line. She picked the dish up out of the tub of mashed potatoes with her ungloved hand. She dumped it's contents back into the tub of mashed potatoes and tossed the dish away. She then dished up another sides dish from where she had just dropped and dumped the previous one. The girl helping me then also dished up my potatoes without gloves from the same space in the same tub. strike 1 and 2. I should of returned the potatoes at that moment but didn't.

There was no space in the condiments for pepper, I had to ask for it, strike 3.

I got to the table, opened my sandwich. It had mayonnaise on it, the order was taken correctly, just built wrong, strike 4. I decided to try it anyway. What I expected was bun, chicken breast, cheese, Cheetos and mayo. Well the top layer was not real cheese, it was literally Cheeto dust mixed into oil, and that mess was all over the inside of the wrapper as a disgusting yellow oily mess, strike 5. Upon biting into it, it was all decent except the Cheetos were stale and chewy, strike 6.

I just could not take any more and returned it all. At that point I did not want anything else at all from this "restaurant"! If I could of given less than a 1 I...
