Fat Cow — Restaurant in Sheboygan Falls

We drove 45 min to see a show and planned for dinner here. My husband had called nearly a week ahead asking if they were taking reservations. After checking, she did say, yes, and put us on the list for 6:30, because we were planning on staying for the music. We arrived, waited 10 min to be seated, it was a Friday, and it was pretty busy, that we expected. We were seated in a separate room away from the, "stage." After 20 minutes, no one had asked if we wanted drinks. Ultimately we caught the attention of one of the men behind the bar and he got us drinks. He apologized, said he was going to make more beer batter and would be back to take our order, (despite the fact he isn't a waiter. He ended up being the most positive part of our experience.) About 10 min later a waitress took the order of a 4 person table that had arrived after us, came to our table and apologized. She took our order for an appetizer and 2 fish frys. We were told it wouldn't be long. 30 min later she came back with our onion rings. More apologies. We didn't see her again, never refilled our drinks. I summoned a different waitress for that. We overheard another woman explaining to the owner that, "so and so," (our waitress, we found out) was in the bathroom crying. I had tried to go back to the kitchen to cancel our order if it hadn't already been started, and was told, "It's coming up now." I was pretty angry and had him put mine in a box to go. It was 8:10 by this time. The music had started at 8pm. Now, I understand, the management is relatively new, it is Friday Fish Fry in Wisconsin and plus the extra following of the musician added to a busy night. There were so many apologies I lost count. If only they would simply have said as they sat us down, "Thanks for coming, we are understaffed, the kitchen is an hour and a half behind, and we just want you to know." They didn't offer to comp our appetizer, buy us a drink or take a few bucks off our meal...NOTHING! We made a reservation for the show, for a reason. We wanted to sit, eat our meal and watch the show. It was a long ride for a disappointing night. After my husband choked down his dinner, we stayed for a few songs and left. I was too annoyed to enjoy the show. Had they been transparent about the actual wait time and offered some type of compensation, other than a dozen apologies, I probably would not have written this, not so...

Great local pub that has got a very down home type of feel to it, great place where you and the entire gang can all go to get some delicious tasting food, then maybe have a couple of drinks together + mingle and socialize, play some slotts or games, maybe listen to music on the jukebox or come on any of the nights they have real live bands playing on their stage. They have bands play gigs there to make some music to entertain your friends/family and yourself to all have some fun. (I believe they MOSTLY have either country bands, classical rock/heavy rock bands come and play shows but I could be mistaken and not correct on that comment so don’t quote me on it) I’d have to probably say that my favorite part about this place would have to be their local based-antiques style theme type of decor, I think its just super cool/awesome to look at and check out while your there. To me personally it looks very old school/rustic type of appearance but in a classical stylish unique kinda style/manner….it looks very fancy and high end also all at the same time as well….you’d have to come by and just check it out for yourself to do it any type of real justice anyways. ….One last thing to wrap up my review….something that certainly makes this pub/eatery stand out from the rest of the local pubs, bars, restaurants around here and honestly stand out more than majority of any businesses that I’ve been at before in my lifetime would be just in general be how every single hired staff member they have working for them are ALL genuine people and their ALL SUPER friendly, kind, respectful, and considerate towards their customers and any others they come into contact with….their very helpful and make you feel very welcomed and at home while your there and if you happen to have any questions or concerns, I’m sure they’ll help you out in any form they can help in. For a rated scale rank that is at five stars maximum, I without a doubt will say I have to give this establishment an easy TENNNNN STARS easily!!!!!! 🤩 ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 🤩💯💯👏🏽👏🏽 Hope you’ll go and give this place a visit soon, you definitely will NOT regret your decision to do so and will likely become a regular returning pleased and happy customer as an end result!!!...

Food was mediocre, but the service was catastrophic.

The atmosphere was awkward - the TV's were blaring loud chatter from some sports commentary show (sports are great on the TVs, but play some music for guests who aren't interested!) while guests looked around at each other in awe, wondering who's order would be messed up next and what random order in which the orders would be served.

The service is fundamentally flawed. We counted 5 staff serving just 9 guests. The bar tender forgot to put in our order. When she realized her mistake, she served another guests' appetizers to us. When she did put our order in, she put it in wrong. Our drinks sat empty for most of the evening. While we waited, the bartender ran around frazzled, often rolling her eyes and coming across as rude. When our orders were finally served, they were served wrong. They were delivered without utensils and condiments, which we had to ask for. With empty plates and empty drinks, we sat wondering when the bartender would finally realize we were ready for what was next. Had the service had gone better, it may of been more drinks, but at this point, we just wanted the check so we could leave (which we had to ask for).

While the bar tender was clearly in the weeds and struggling to operate the single point of sale system (which was comically tiny), not a single staff member stepped in to help. We watched one of the other staff members chit chat and play one of the gambling machines the entire time during our experience. The cook came out and chastised the bartender's inexperience, but never offered any help or advice. Meanwhile, another server wandered around and occasionally did some side work. While we were there, not a single guest's order came out timely or correct.

The menu states the owners have 15 years of hospitality experience. It's clear the owners have ZERO...
