Chinatown Kitchen — Restaurant in Sheboygan

I stopped by to pick up my carry out order. The cashier, though very friendly, had a baby strapped to her front side. I jokingly asked, "it it bring your kid to work day?" and she smiled and said that every day is like that and that is why she took the job. I hope the owners have excellent liability insurance!

As I'm waiting for my order, a gentleman comes in and steps behind the counter. He answers the phone and tells the caller that he is the manager. I can hear his whole conversation handling a complaint with the caller stating that the Sweet n' Sour Chicken is nothing but "Chicken McNuggets with red sauce (LOL!)" and is going back and fourth with the caller debating on the proper way to cook said dish, getting the older Chinese man who is cooking the food involved, who couldn't even understand what was going on. There is another customer in the lobby who gets his order and buys a soda, which the cashier forgot to ring up so she gave it to him for free. My order is finally ready (20 minutes later than promised) and the cashier give me a 2 liter bottle of soda for free.

I get home to find out that I received Beef n' Broccoli in replace of Pork Chop Suey and an order of their famous Sweet n' Sour Chicken, which I did not order.

My rating of 2 stars is for the poor management of the restaurant and getting my order wrong. 2 stars instead of 1 because the Sweet n' Sour chicken and Beef n'...

I was asked what my order is six times after I ordered it. The thing is that I don't care because I understand that they're busy on the one night that the other Chinese restaurant is closed. I just got the most tender beef I've ever had from any restaurant ever. That includes high end steakhouses. The beef in my beef lo-mein was so tender that BUTTER could cut it. The Lo Mein was absolutely spectacular and I really don't care that it took quite a while to get my order out. The service is great. It's an asian family and the 阿姨 is clearly leading and cooking a lot of the food, which means it's automatically going to be amazing. I haven't been here in several years because I thought China Star was better, but these guys have really stepped up their game. This is clearly the best Chinese food in...

I only eat at two Chinese restaurants in Sheboygan - this one is my go-to for take out. I've been a customer of theirs for at least 20 years. I've always enjoyed their offerings.

Admittedly, the dine-in experience wasn't the best. But it seems, lately, that dine-in is not an option anymore. I agree that if you judged the food only by what you saw behind the desk -- you might not order. That's why we don't ask how the sausage is made...we just eat it....

However, the quality has always been consistent and tasty to me. I didn't even realize the place had changed ownership until I read it here in the reviews. I noticed no difference in quality -- only how small a "large" can be. Call ahead, pickup, and get...
