My elderly mother got a job here and let them know upon applying that she had recently suffered a heart attack and should not be doing strenuous activies. This would have left her either running the grill, or the front. Rather, they put her on broaster and fryer, made her change all the oil pans within a 2 day time frame, when a much younger employee (much more capable employee) was simply grilling toast. She completed the broilers the first day, she worked through it to prove she could. Shes a proud, hardworking woman. The next day they asked her to change the fryer oil. She let them know that she physically was unable to carry the heavy, hot oil outside again, they said "a lot of us do stuff we don't want to"

She quit directly following and for good reason. I'm not complaining about the food, I'm complaining about the lack of empathy. The Inn is owned by people of mostly older age, some older than my mother so I'm surprised at their lack of care when when many other employees were available. I...

If I could give 4.5, I would. This place is rich in nostalgia-the building is in the style of a Pizza Hut of my 80’s childhood, the decorations pushing the limits of Cracker Barrel-chic/ chicken fetishism. The building wasn’t the only thing that exudes nostalgia- the clear plastic drinking vessels, the iceberg, tomatoes, croutons, and Colby-Jack cheese shredded on top; a salad I grew up with, so much, I was near offended the first time I left rural Indiana and had a foreign salad without cheese! world shook. We had the famous fried chicken- how could we not- it came out in the prescribed 15-20 minutes. It’s juicy, pressure cooked, then fried goodness was surrounded by a crisp-not-crunchy skin. My only complaint was that, though good, it was rather unseasoned. Salt and fat for sure, but no herbs or other seasonings. It was an enjoyable meal, with excellent service from the one male server (at least this shift). The place was clean, service prompt,...

From first view of this place it’s like a hole in the wall then once in side and seated it’s like family. If you are a local or from out of town this place will feel like home. From the fresh made slaw to the made to order fried chick (20m) this place hits the mark for home cooking comfort food like gram used to make. You know you’re in the right place when u see an owner taking orders and filling up drinks over sitting in a office. And where they come and talk to you as if u was old friends u have not seen in a long time. This is the best and a must visit. well worth the drive whether it be a 10 minute or a 2 hour trip. This is a must go to kind of place. A+++

Ordinary-looking building contains a family-owned restaurant specializing in fried chicken, but with other offerings as well. My husband had a really impressive Very Berry salad with strawberries and huge blueberries and blackberries, and the fried biscuits and apple butter were especially good in that the biscuits were twice the size of some I have had other places and the homemade apple butter was quite tasty. This was our first time here but we would be happy to return.
