Terrible, the owners were beyond rude. I ordered take out got home not only had the sweet and sour sauce from the sweet and sour chicken spilled inside the entire bag we get home to the quality of the food not acceptable. The chow mien seemed old and soggy and the chicken did not seem to be chicken it was beyond rubbery. I contacted them informing them that I was not satisfied with my order and was told to bring it back down and I would be refunded. Upon arrival they inspected my food to which I was told I had eaten over half of it which was complete crap I could barely force any of it down my throat so therefore seems they jipped us on our order as well since they told us we ate half of it. The owner was beyond rude slamming his fists on the counter while his children sat at a nearby table eating food during customer hours and not only were we called liars we were laughed and mocked by his wife and children. The cops were involved and after them telling us it was up to the owner whether or not he wanted to refund us since apparently they can serve crap food and get away with it the owner finally agreed to refunding us after almost a half hour of arguing, being called a liar and told it was my first time ever being there and the food is always that crappy. I will never be going into this dirty restaurant again. It definitely makes me wonder what they are serving the public with...
Read moreWow, what a change! I have now had two meals here since the ownership change. The food quality and service has gone way up. Their General's Chicken with Fried Rice is extremely good. Sauce is very good and the chicken was still crispy despite being doused in the General Tso sauce.
My most recent meal I had the Beef Ho Fun (Chow Fun), which is a wide noodle dish. I asked them to make it spicy. And it was phenomenal. Best Chow Fun I've ever had. Better than P.F. Chang's Chow Fun! I highly recommend you ask for it spicy. The chilis add a lot of flavor to the dish.
So nice to have another quality Chinese spot in Shelton again. Happy Garden was good years ago and steadily went down hill every year. Now with the new crew, it's back. Probably better than it ever was. Portions are very generous. ...
Read moreMy family and I had an amazing meal and experience at Happy Garden. We got orange chicken, general Tao’s chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Spicy garlic beef and fried rice. We dined in and arrived around 7 pm on a Friday night. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and had no issue waiting at all. When we were sat, the woman who appeared to be the owner, gave us free soup to amend for the wait time. We were treated like we were family and I have to say, we were treated better at happy garden than any other place we’ve gone! The food was as amazing as the service. Every dish was absolutely delicious and the 2 kids loved their meals as well! The oldest told me the next day “the food last night was really good” and she’s a picky eater! Hope you too, enjoy the food from...
