I've never been into this establishment until moments ago and my first experience has caused me to actually leave before even placing an order.
A couple of my friends had already arrived before me literally right when they opened the door today at 12:00.. The girl that opened the door didn't welcome us in, she didn't have a smile and she wasn't kind when my friends were asking her about a table big enough for five. Her body language was very unwelcoming. she was rude. You can tell that she really didn't want to be there. The person whom I believe was the cook, came out and was at the end of the bar with her hands on her face and scratching her arms and to see that and not know if she would wash her hands prior to touching food just disturbed me.. same with the the girl that opened the door she was messing with her hair to pull her hoodie up and then she started eating food at the bar and again is probably the one who would have brought out the food and probably would not have washed her hands.. We were still waiting for two more of our guests to arrive and I simply asked her if there was water and her comment back was" I'm sure that there is".. really? That is the worst service I have ever experienced and then she was shocked that we were leaving.. there was no way I was going to contribute money to this establishment.. and the rest of my friends felt the same thing and agreed with me and we all left and...
Read moreI went here because I have been searching for decent pizza in Shelton and this place seemed to have good reviews. Got their monster pepperoni. Paid $31 for it. Got home my wife, my guest, my daughter and myself each tried a slice. It was quite burned and completely inedible. I usually don't like to complain, it REALLY has to be called for. After consideration I decided that we did not get what we paid for, so I called in and requested a refund. The lady seemed understanding and nice, but when I indicated that I wanted a refund instead of a replacement the line got disconnected. I gave them the benefit of the doubt figuring they may be having phone issues. I called back, no answer. I waited an hour and called back again, still no answer. I waited another couple hours, still no answer, then called back just before bed, still no answer. I'm pretty sure she hung up on me. My bank was happy to reverse the transaction, so I got my money back. Regardless, at the end of the day, a pizza that costs over $30 should be delicious. And 4 people should have no problem demolishing the thing. Maybe it was just a fluke and accidentally gave me a burned pizza, but be warned! We chose to stop into their taproom because it seemed like it would meet all our needs. Quick, quality, comfortable.
When we arrived, it was already apparent that the staff was busy. We made sure to ask whether table service or bar service was preferred. They assured us that we would have table service.
We opted to order drinks at the bar and grab a menu for food. After waiting about 15 minutes, a person came to take our order. Afterward, we didn't hear from them for about 40 minutes. When they finally came out with our appetizers and took our order, we were informed that they were out of chicken, we don't eat beef, so this was a major disappointment. Never the less we proceeded to order dinner, we had a hike to get to, and it was already late. After sitting another 30 minutes, we informed the waitress that we hadn't heard anything...
When things finally arrived in boxes, it was not only cold but incorrect. Tomatoes added when asked for non, etc...
It was the worst way to start an otherwise incredible weekend.
