update: still my favorite place in Shelton. It has been almost 2 years since I was last here, and since we were in the area today, we thought we'd pop in for some dinner. I got my old standby, and my copycat boyfriend got the same: carnitas wet burritos, and holy cow it was so good! I'm telling you, if you've never been, you have to go. hands down the best Mexican food in Mason County.
This is my favorite place to eat in Shelton!! Edit: I have not been a resident for a year now, and have not spent very much time down in Mason County since I left. The other day, however, my boyfriend and I happened to be taking the back way home to the Bremerton area from Olympia and decided to swing into Las Palmas. Man did I realize the minute I crossed the threshold how much I missed this place.
I ordered my old standby, a wet burrito with carnitas for the meat and Mountain Dew. Sometimes when you revisit a place from the past, you try and recapture a moment that has long since passed and wind up being disappointed, but THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE TIMES!!! Oh my goodness, the food was so good. The staff is friendly, the chips and homemade salsa were so delicious, and my burrito was so good it should have been framed and hung on the wall.
If you've never been, you should go. You're doing yourself a disservice by missing out on...
Read moreGood food bad/rude service I have been eating here for years and the food is good. The problem for me is getting past the bad service from a older female the last 3 times I have been there. I can see having a bad day but being short with nasty/snippy remarks everytime is unnessary! This last visit I asked for sour cream on the side (I asked 3 times) final got a bit in a bowl. I asked what happend to the squeeze bottle? She tells me "People are taking advantage of them so we got rid of them. Really? Anyway I asked for a spoon to get the cream of the bowl; she says "tacos are a finger food" I am not interested in losing most of my taco into this tiny bowl. Final this kid bring me a fork... For liquid sour cream... Wow! what a hassle for a taco. I'll never go back. If their so tight on condiments what else are they...
Read moreTook my Hispanic friends from Spokane there for his birthday. Arrived a little after noon and almost left because the place was far from elegant and no other customers but he wanted to give it a try because the menu on the wall was not the typical American-Mexican fare but more like what he would see in a nice non-tourist Mexican restaurant and had pictures of each type of dish. Soon after our arrival lots of other people came in and by the time our orders arrived, which wasn’t long, the place was filled. Most of the people were Hispanic. I was thinking the price was a bit high for Mexican food but it was served on a plate that was more of a platter and full, also hot. Surprisingly I ate it all. I came hungry and the food was so delicious I just kept on eating. We will be going back before my friends...
