Next time I’m in Shelton I know my review will change to 5 stars. We visited the place on Tuesday evening (06/20) and experienced the nicest, friendliest and most helpful staff. Both of the waitresses, the bartender and obviously the kitchen staff working that evening were really busting their butts off to accommodate and feed every guest. We were informed the pub was unusually busy for a Tuesday so there might be some delays, especially when it came to drinks since there was only one bartender working. My drink came pretty late, but the waitress of course apologized and took it off the check. I have no idea what it looks like normally, but the place was incredibly full, and people were coming in every 10min checking if there was a table available for them. I am convinced the number of people, and therefore orders made the kitchen staff pretty overwhelmed and they must’ve been hurrying with preparing food because my burger (blue cheese burger with a vegan meat substitute) and bun were a bit burned. Fries also looked like they were sitting for a little bit before being served. Although taste wise everything was perfect. The ahi tuna salad was delicious, so was fish and chips. The slightly spicy sauce that comes with the fried onion was very good as well. As to drinks, we tried five of them and they were all so good. The cucumber mint one was my favorite. Additionally, I really love how vegetarian friendly this place is compared to all the other places I’ve been to in the area. Also, this is the first Irish pub I have seen that serves shepherds pie with a vegan meat substitute. Haven’t tried it this time, but I for sure will next time. Overall that was still a great experience despite my food not being perfect this time. You could see how busy everyone was, but they all still managed to be very friendly to all the quests and keep a smile on their faces. Yes, it might’ve taken some time for our order and drinks to make it to our table, but especially the waitresses made the wait so much more bearable you barely even realized you waited 10min longer than you probably should’ve. I will for sure visit this place again once I’m in town, and I’m sure it will be 5 stars that time around.

We're visiting from Mountlake Terrace. We wanted to hit the Museum and I was looking for places to eat locally. I stumbled upon this place and decided that's what we'd do. A perk is that it is right next door! The service was amazing. The ended up having a party of like 15 people pour in plus other guest and the service was STILL awesome. The food! Where to start!? Me and my husband are staying in Union. It's an anniversary tradition and this is year 7 I believe. Our first anniversary, we ate at the Robin Hood restaurant in Union and had something that we both LOVED; lemon drop prawns. It was delicious and nostalgic. Sadly the restaurant is gone and so we're our fond memories of being in love sharing the prawns, until today. They had lemon drop prawns!! We were delighted to see them, and even more delighted to eat them! I ordered the Irish sampler. I'm a corned beef girly but when I say the star was the Shephards pie! The flavor was equally delicious and decadent! Honestly, it was ALL great! My husband got the burger with the pretzel bun and fried egg, can't recall the name, it was the best pretzel bun I've ever tasted! It also made me realize that every other "pretzel " bun had just been playing dress up! Haha. Finall,, the Eastside cocktail was my FAVORITE. Reminded me of my favorite drink, the Basil gimlet! We will be back, one way or another!

I love a good Irish pub, I’ve been to a lot be it in Ireland or the tallest Irish pub in the world in Cusco, Peru. What I loved about this particular pub is the heart. You can see the love in the construction and I. the menu. The decor has function, warmth, and an eclectic vibe that says yah we used what we had but what we had was good and we put it together well. The door hanging over the bar as a chandelier, apparently was a kept item from when the building was a post office. The menu has a Irish wonton to honor of the Chinese restaurant that used to call the building home for 40 years. The food was excellent, the Guinness was cold and well poured, the staff was helpful and genuine. Only feedback, the fries were not my preference but I know people who love their fries a little most toasty - they would have been in heaven. Try the house sauce.. on like anything hahaha it’s crazy good. Oh did I mention they allow doggos (even give them a food treat). Can’t wait to go back for the vibe and vittles!

So it's disappointing that I have to write this, because all the reviews have been good, but I must say my experience and my 85 year old parent's experience was below expectations. When I walked into the Pub to purchase the Gift Certificate, it was a cold place, atomosphere, and the waitress I encountered also. The bartender who I purchased the GC from was nice, but that was it. By cold, I mean the place was cold, the atomosphere was cold, and the flat, hard tables and seats were cold, along with the waitress. Not a good first impression. But I wanted to give them a chance, maybe the food was good, so I purchased it anyway. My parents ate there last week. My Dad is not a complainer, doesn't like to upset people, but this being said. The waitress did not take the time to "listen" to what they were asking, or saying. When they asked about the food, but did not order the food, she placed an order immediately. They wanted to be able to enjoy a drink before they ordered, but their food came shortly after the food. There were no choices for sides to the menu. The main course only came with the listed side, that was undesirable. When my Stepmom only asked if they had a certain liquor on hand, she was was served a glass of it, AGAIN, without ordering it. Now she had her wine AND a glass of liquor in front of her. When I was there, I saw that the seating were flat, hard seats and benches. Dad said the chairs had cushion?, but the bench was so hard that people with no meat down there is rough on them. They, nor I, will ever go back and that's sad, because Shelton is in dire need of good restaurants! I hope this review was helpful to the owners most of all, and can bring some simple changes. Even though we don't "have" to eat there, it would be nice for all persons to be able to feel comfortable and heard when they spend good money...

My review on this establishment is strictly on how they treat their employees. It’s so sad to know and witness someone getting fired over text messages in a group chat. No one should be fired in a group text message. Getting fired over someone else’s opinions between co-workers. My daughter was fired because another coworker expressed his opinion or concerns to another employee via text messages. Manager got those texts, typed them out and shared it with everyone. What happened to the other employee who shared his opinion about the Pub? Ohhh yes he still there why because he never shared his text messages. Text messages from manager apologized and knew she had no knowledge of the situation but fired her anyway. Why!!!! Because she was in a relationship with the employee. Management knew she was in a relationship when she hired. Owner said it’s a right to fire state, but what was the cause? Owner said it’s because of the actions of her boyfriend and bringing her name into the conversation. Does that sound like a right to fire?? No!!!! That’s discrimination and assuming she was involved even though the manager said he’s sorry and knew this but needs to protect the Pub… protect it from what? What did she do that warrants them to protect the pub?? Nothing she did nothing, nor was she savvy to other coworkers options or concerns. Nor was she savvy to the text messages between coworkers. Super sad to hear the owner say my daughter was pleasant, and a great worker but yet her relationship with someone is why she’s fired. After talking to a lawyer it’s clear that she was fired without cause, and is considered discriminating. Employers don’t understand what right to fire state means. The proof is in the text messages by management. I’ll never support or eat at this...
