Update 7/24/2021. Redeemed. Back to four stars. Perfect subs and fries. Hallelujah! Keep up the good work. I think the quality of the food corresponds to the age of the employees that are working. The gentleman that was working tonight made the perfect sandwiches and fries. The kids that usually work there seem to be the problem. They don't care about their jobs so they crank out bad quality. Thankfully someone actually knows what customer service is about at this location.
Update 5/28/2021. I wish I could go with negative stars. This is the worst location for food quality. After almost 6 months I wanted to give them one more shot. It was a fail. If I just wanted a loaf of bread and nothing inside, I would have asked for exactly that. At leat THIS time the fries were on point. I will not be back.
Update 12/2/20. Changed from 2 stars down to 1.
I will absolutely not be back to Penn Station. They skimp on the meat, the bread had gotten smaller/thinner, and the amount of fries they give is laughable, and undercooked. THIS IS NOT the Penn Station that I knew and used to love. Good luck.
Update. Got fries today, 9/4/20. They were not done and they were super soggy. Worst experience at a Penn Station ever. I doubt I'll be back. They seemed rushed for some reason.
Changed my rating from three stars down to two.
My original review, when they were usually good:
The sandwiches are usually pretty good. The consistency of the sandwiches vary form day to day. One day there's extra meat, other days there's hardly any meat, and one day there's just the right amount of meat on the sandwich. I'll raise my rating once I see there is consistency of how the...
Read moreI come into this Penn Station all the time. I was actually in there the day the lady above said there was dirty “mop water” sitting out. If you’ve EVER worked in the food industry you know at some point someone will always forget to flip up the spout on the tea urn… if the lady was that concerned about it being a hazard she could’ve very easily asked the manager who was the one mopping up the TEA that had spilt all of the floor why there was such dirty “mop water” (because I can assure you it was so dark there was NO way it was just dirty water) sitting out for all to see. I guess next time they could just leave the tea on the floor for someone to slip and fall in, (mind you there were wet floor signs out as well) but apparently that’s to much of an easy solution. And on top of that incident the manager did not raise her voice a single time I was in the store! But then again you’d have to have worked in the food industry to realize you sometime have to speak a little louder than normal due to music playing i’m the background, families having conversations, kids plying, and employees taking orders. Maybe try talking to a manager yourself before trying to leave a nasty review to try and deter future customers from eating there. So, to the sweet manager who I am sure got reprimanded for this one customers very over exaggerated review please let your boss KNOW that was not the case and I am in the store at least once a week if they would personally like to reach out to me on your behalf! Sending you good vibes and GREAT understanding customers from...
Read moreAfter our previous bad experience at penn station months ago with the worst, most burnt hard fries (or should I call them crumbs because that's what they were) we decided to give them another chance. Googled the hours and said open until 10pm. We drove from mount washington and got to shepherdsville at 9:25. Door was unlocked so we walked in. BIG mistake. The rap music was turned up so loud and the girl behind the cash register just looked at us puzzled. I had to shout to even hear myself speak. She looked towards the back where another young girl, maybe the night manager, walked up to me. Instead of turning the music down to speak to a customer, she yelled as loud as she could, and I am not exaggerating, YELLED that they were closed. They closed at 8. I had to ask her to repeat herself as I could not hear a word she was yelling. If they were closed, the hours should have been updated on google or at least lock the door. If you forget and a paying customer walks in, you greet them and kindly and inform them that you are closed, not shout at them because of loud rap music. I worked in restaurants for 16 years, front of the house and back of the house. I would NEVER have treated even the rudest of customers the way I was treated tonight. We will NOT be returning...
