Taste of China — Restaurant in Sherman

Service at the front was less than mediocre. We drove from Fort Worth, met our father for Father’s Day from OKLAHOMA, and was going to have to wait 45min to an hour on our sister from another part of Oklahoma… and they wouldn’t let 4 of us sit. I understand rules given by your manager, so I asked to speak with one… I was told he was TOO busy, to just speak with one of those two girls and I said no I would like to speak to a manager. I was then told he wasn’t there ,so which was it ? There and TOO busy, or not there at all?? All this time one with a smirky smile and attitude(Allison) and one giving dirty looks and attitude (Miranda) . I simply was going to politely ask the manager if he would make an exception this one time as I understand the young girls have to follow the rules they are given, however the smirky smile and attitude doesn’t mean you are being polite and respectful it shows immaturity. The manager did finally walk up and I politely told him how rude the young ladies were and that we would be leaving. We definitely wouldn’t recommend this place simply based on service, food may be good, we don’t know we left and went to King Buffet. It however was a pleasant...

Yesterday 9/16/23 around 6:45/7:00pm We were a big group (nothing wrong with it, is a restaurant like any other one that need customers) since we walked in the person that normally take you to the table was with bad attitude, finally was our time to go to the table and she was kinda rushing asking for beverages, kids age etc etc, when she got it figure out she very disrespectfully had throw the ticket on the table and walked away….. the food was good (not easy to say on a Chinese buffet) the guy who was taking care of us was amazing and he apologized for what happened when it wasn’t even his fault. My advice to that person in the front….. if you’re not in the mood to provide good customer service you better change your job, with the yesterday attitude you really need to be working in a warehouse with boxes instead of working with people or in the kitchen doing dishes, but you’re not a good representative for that restaurant, I will never go back to that restaurant anymore because of you, we definitely stayed because we were hungry and didn’t wanted to go and drive somewhere else but you ruined it all!

I was there on a Sunday during a busy time of the day. As I entered with an appetizing, delicious aromas of freshly made traditional Chinese food dishes. There was a bit of a wait for a table, however there is comfortable seating in the waiting area. When we were seated the wait staff was consistently friendly, and attentive. The food selection is in line with similar Chinese buffet restaurants. There is plenty of space to walk around other guests as I made my selections. I could tell which selections to try because others pointed out what was good to eat. I personally liked the beef and broccoli, garlic shrimp, and sesame chicken. All three were spiced right and were delicious. That said other selections were a bit of miss that were challenged with beind bland, or perhaps even being over cooked. All that said, for the price as well as how prepared the staff was with their ongoing replenishment efforts in providing what was being eaten the most during what is conceivably their busiest time of the week.
