For starters. We LOVE this place. We’ve come here for years and the staff is always the best, the food is always top notch. Every time we go we see the same ladies that have helped us and they’re all awesome. Tonight my fiancé was craving clams so we went for those specifically. We have gotten them many times and they’re always so good, the sauce is always so good. I’m not sure what went wrong here but when we showed up tonight we were not greeted at all when we walked in, this guy I’ve never seen before with bleach blonde hair made us walk to him then he proceeded to make jokes about “oh we can seat ourselves because we work here” (my fiancé was wearing a Clancy’s T-shirt) it was just very rude and very uncomfortable. We asked for a high chair for our 2 year old daughter and then sat out back, nobody brought us a high chair, we had to go and find one. That’s not a big deal but it’s just not the service we usually get when we go there. Trying to make this story shorter, basically we order Clams of course and they come in the grossest bowl of water. It was not the sauce that you can dip your bread in, they were Luke warm and absolutely non appetizing. Trying to be nice about it we call our waitress over and very apologetically try and send them back, they were definitely not what we came there for. She was coming up with every excuse in the book for why they looked and tasted the way they did. But she took them back and everything was fine. The service was “fine” at this point. My fiancé just asked if he could get a burger and fries instead not wanting to deal with getting the same icky clams. About 20 minutes later after I was done with my food and we were ready to check out he called her over and asked to just get it to go at that point. She brought it back to us in a bag and I told him to check it before we leave.. the fries were SOGGY. You could tell they had been sitting a long time. And this pains me because we normally would never complain about small mistakes, this was very different. I don’t know what was going on but we’ve just never experienced this here. I didn’t want to pay for something like that, the food is normally the best around. So I told him to bring it back inside, while he was standing at the counter our waitress “Red?” Little lady with short blonde hair told him to stop looking in the kitchen got very rude about it. My fiancé is not one to keep his mouth shut when others are rude so when he came back to the table he was stating that this was horrible service and we would not ever come back here with these same people. They were all so rude and the food was terrible. Red then came out and kicked us all out, we had to grab our 2 year old daughter and leave. This was the worst experience. I just wish the normal ladies that we always see were there! They wouldn’t ever let...
Read moreI try not write negative reviews and even stewed on this one for a few days but wow, greatly disappointed with my last visit. Started with another server stopping by to take our drink order - great! or so we thought, until our assigned server popped over with water and to tell us the drink order was in the works, for the wrong drink, ok no biggie, she caught the bartender before the wrong drink was completed BUT we watched the bartender roll his eyes and cop a bit of attitude, then proceeded to make a half-a**ed beverage...hey pal, not OUR fault the server gave the wrong order! Then the same server stopped by to take our order a little later with a snarky "because I have NO clue where your regular server is...." um ok, thanks? We ordered salads, pretty easy...but guess what, yep, my wife's order came out wrong...no biggie, totally fixable by our awesome assigned server. Sadly the food was marginal at best that day but we ate, no complaints. The other server brought our tab to us, didn't ask if we needed or wanted anything else, handed it directly to me, awkward since my wife was treating that day, so she takes the tab and the card, and within a few seconds our regular server comes out to check if we are ready, then gives us the bill and is comping us for the botched order, so once again she has to stop everything with the other server...the other server brings back the card and processed tab, hands it to us with "here you go, your food was comped BECAUSE of ME, YOU'RE WELCOME" intentional or not, it was delivered with quite the attitude, and since we did nothing wrong, not greatly appreciated by us. We understand everyone has good days and bad days, and a memorial service for a regular occurring at the same time we stopped in, but come on people, we simply tried to patronize your establishment and get bad service, attitude from 2 employees, and sub par food? Sadly we will be taking Clancy's out of rotation for a bit and hope everyone can get it together over there, we use to...
Read moreSo we've been checking out the Happy Hour scene in and around Sherwood, this day it was Clancy's. I've seen some poor reviews regarding service, but our server was really good - funny & friendly. The Happy Hour menu offers few choices - in our party, it was only the fish and chips - NW halibut & fries, that were ordered off the HH menu. It was a decent size serving and the fish tasted fresh and had that crunch I like. Otherwise, 2 patty melts and a cheeseburger were ordered. These come with chips - as in a small bag of Lay's classic plain chips. You can get fries or tots for a $3 up-charge and rings for more. The melts were a single small patty-I would suggest adding another patty for $3 to make a decent burger. The cheeseburger was good, not anything special. Drinks were had, but not by me, so I can't speak on that. As the sun was setting, it was blindingly bright at the table in the back and no way to stop the sun. Our server kindly stood for a few minutes and blocked it for us! Also at the table in the back, the seat cushions sunk so low we practically had our chins at the table top. Overall, the food was okay, service was great but we see no reason to return...
