Red River Revel — Local services in Shreveport

BEWARE OF THE WRISTBAND SCAM: My family and I attended the Revel at the beginning of October. Since they transitioned to the wristband payment method rather than the coupons, we were forced to put money on these electronic wristbands in order to purchase food and drinks from vendors. After leaving the event, we had a balance of $15. We were instructed to go to the website to request a refund. Upon doing so, we were told that our request was too early and gave us a 9-day window to request the refund between Oct 11th and Oct 20th.

Unfortunately life got in the way, and we had forgotten, until yesterday (Nov 5th). I emailed their support team about the refund, only to be told that they "cannot process the refund request and will consider any remaining balances as donations to the event". So, basically, they will be keeping my money because I didn't ask for it in that 9-day window.

I would understand if I was trying return a product for a refund, or trying to ask for my funds months or a year later. It hasn't even been a full month yet. This is robbery and a major scam. In my opinion, I think they knew most people would forget so they could pocket some extra money.

Please be aware of this if you decide to go to their next event. I would STEER CLEAR of the wristbands. If you can't pay cash or use a card, I wouldn't...

Lots of fun. Went Fri and Saturday evenings, mostly for music. The sound was as good as it gets for outdoors with a large variety of music genres. The food area was in one area, spacious and easy to get around in. Consolidated signs made it simple to see all menus at once. Plenty for kids to do with a large ride/activity area. There needed to be more organization to indicate where certain booths could have been found. We ended up paying to get in though it indicated online the first Saturday before 5 would be free. Which with a large group that wasn't worth rushing everyone to get there before 5! The exhibit were nice, especially the one for the inmates who had art work. What a wonderful organization to provide this service to draw out the talents of those going through difficult times. The family...
