After reading recent reviews, my husband and I were excited to try this place out. Arrived early for our Sunday reservation, sat immediately. The host, bryan, was pleasant and inviting. Once sat, our waiter (can't remember his name but it began with a e) appeared to be nice at the beginning. We ordered our appetizers which was the crab cakes and the quail & grits. My husband said the crab cakes were just 'ok' and I've never had quail so I'm unsure of taste & texture but they were very dry to eat. I wasn't a fan of the cheese grits. My husband ordered the rib eye, medium with augratin potatoes and I ordered the surf & turf (medium well) with garlic mashed potatoes. My steak came out super dry & charred (burnt). My lobster was like I was chewing a rubber tire. My husband's ribeye came out well done. We told the waiter (quietly) about our meals and that's when things turned from bad to worse. He took our meals came back with a very strong aggressive attitude. Telling me to pick something else to eat. I told him that I ordered what I wanted he flat out told me 'That's the way the chef said he cooks, if you don't like it I'm not going to bring you another one out'. I was floored. After being humiliated by this waiter... I told my husband to forget it, I don't even want to eat here anymore. As we stood up to leave the waiter tells my husband ' you still have to pay for the appetizers' (in a very humiliating way in front of other patrons). We walked to the front and asked to speak to the manager which happened to be bryan. As I'm talking with Bryan my husband is paying for the apps. The waiter walks up to us crosses his arms on the counter staring at me with a smirk on his face. Bryan apologized and mentioned he wanted to correct the situation but he had to talk with his manager and he would contact me within 24-48 hours. Took my name and phone #. This was on Sunday 9-11 5 days ago. And I have yet to hear from anybody. If we're going to pay $135 for the surf and turf then I expect to have it cooked to MY LIKING. Same for my husband's steak. And for this waiter to embarass us the way he did was absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for. We ended up ordering food from the noodle bar where Victoria was super nice. The food was OK but just her customer service will make us go back before ever stepping foot back in to the vintage. The blind tiger around the corner from ballys has some great food with superb...
Read moreIt's been almost a month since my wife and I ate at Vintage, but we felt it important to leave an honest, although maybe a lengthy review. In January, we decided to use Shreveport as our halfway stop on a trip to visit relatives in south Louisiana. We wanted to stay in a casino so that we wouldn't have to look or drive for drinks and a restaurant. We chose another casino, but we ended up at Bally's in a search of decent drinks and food, and we discovered The Vintage. We weren't too hungry, so we sat at the bar where we met our new Shreveport bartender friend, Richard (Ricky). We had wonderful appetizers of quail and crabcakes, both of which were absolutely delicious. We had great conversation and drinks with Ricky. So, the next time, which was the end of March, that we were going to south Louisiana, we decided to stay at Bally's because The Vintage was there. We arrived early, but the hostess kindly seated us anyway. This is our experience in a nutshell: we have spent double the money we did that night at other restaurants and walked away sorely disappointed, but we had one of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had at The Vintage. Let me just say Ricky is a master bartender. Our drinks were wonderful. He makes simply the best Manhattan I've ever had, and he was even kind enough to write his secret down so that I can make them at home! We were fortunate enough to have James as our server. He was perfect! He let us go at our own pace, he was attentive, and he was extremely funny! Now, for the food. My wife NEVER orders steak out because she doesn't think anyone cooks steak as well as I do. Let me tell you. She has RAVED about her filet to anyone who will listen! My ribeye was incredible! No, this is not an inexpensive steak restaurant, but it is one of the best experiences you will ever have. I promise! We can't wait to make another stop at The Vintage on our way to south Louisiana! I wish I had taken pictures, but we were too...
Read moreI expected better. Very disappointing. My wife ordered a salad and they brought something that was missing the key ingredients of the salad.when we asked about it he said yes unfortunately they were out of those ingredients which he should have let us know when we were ordering so we asked to get it switched to another salad and we've already ordered our main meal and have been seated for over 30 minutes by the time they brought out the other salad and she had time to eat it our food sat and got cold so when they brought it out, my steak was cold my crab legs were cold, and there was no attention to our table. They brought the bread late. When the entrees came, they brought the wrong food. The waiter seemed pleasant but was not properly trained and mostly non-informative and inattentive. We had to ask to have our glasses refilled several times, he never offered me another beer, and he seemed irritated when we asked for something. The atmosphere was enjoyable but for the price of the food, I expected much...
