When I used to eat out with friends, the suggestion of getting a salad would always make me laugh. I couldn't understand why anyone would spend money on something as basic and unexciting as a salad when there were so many other delicious options available. However, my perspective changed completely after I tried Sweetgreen. This place revolutionized my idea of what a salad could be.

From the moment I took my first bite, I realized how wrong I had been. The salads at Sweetgreen are something special. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately apparent; each bite bursts with vibrant, crisp flavors that make it clear these vegetables were sourced with care. The curated sauces and dressings add a depth of flavor that is both surprising and delightful. One of my favorites includes a tangy, curried dressing that perfectly complements the sweetness and soft texture of roasted sweet potatoes.

The salads are not just tasty but also incredibly nutritious. For instance, the high-fiber quinoa provides a satisfying base that is both filling and beneficial for digestion. Sweetgreen manages to balance health and flavor so well that each bowl feels like a treat, despite being packed with wholesome ingredients. The combination of different textures and tastes – the crunch of fresh greens, the creamy bite of avocado, the tangy bursts from pickled onions – creates an experience that is anything but boring.

Admittedly, Sweetgreen’s salads are on the pricier side compared to your typical salad bar. However, the quality and the experience make it worth every penny. We went in for dinner approximately 6:45 pm on March 17, 2025. I ordered a Harvest Bowl with Spinach as the base, my daughter ordered the Chicken Pesto Bowl and asked for extra broccoli. They were out of chicken, sweet potatoes, avocado and I’m not sure what else. We had to wait for chicken to be cooked which took more than 10 minutes when the man was making my bowl he realized there wasn’t any sweet potato and said I would have to wait for another 10-15 minutes for that to be cooked. Instead of waiting AGAIN I chose something else we got a glass bottle of tea and paid. When I sat down and opened my salad, I saw that the chicken that I had waited for was nothing but fat and dark meat! I do not eat dark meat or FAT. not to mention there was only about 1/2 the amount of spinach that there should have been in the bowl. I’ve eaten this salad many times in the past and never had dark fatty chicken. I brought it to the counter and told the man who made it for me, and he told someone else that basically just took it and asked what I ordered, the. Asked for my cc and refunded me. He didn’t offer me anything else in place of the chicken or an apology nothing… The sad part is there are people working at this establishment that aren’t concerned with customer satisfaction and that’s a big problem in...

As I was shopping at the plaza, I happened to have stumbled across this Chipotle vibe fast food eatery. I went in based on the name, knowing it will ave plenty of healthy options. I was proven correct as I saw their menu with a variety of healthy salads. On the wall, it read all their ingredients are organic and farm to table.

I was most excited about their Shroomami salad which is a warm bowl. It contains roasted tofu, warm portobello mix, raw beets, cucumbers, basil, sunflower seeds, organic wild rice, shredded kale, and finished with miso sesame ginger dressing. Their warm bowl was sadly not as warm as I would have liked. While it wasn't cold, it was more at room temperature. A scoop of this and a scoop of that but they were generous with the kale. Considering the name, "Shroomam" I had expected more emphasis on the wild mushrooms. I felt they did not give much of that and I did not use much dressing so I can honestly state, the taste of the mushroom was sadly underwhelming.
