Subway — Restaurant in Sidney

We went in 10/29/23 for lunch. Took about 20 minutes of standing in line behind a couple other customers before we were able to order our 2 sandwiches. I think it's important to mention that we tried to present our coupon BEFORE ordering and the girl taking food orders at the counter said, "Just hold onto the coupon and present it at the cash register ". After the sandwiches were made, we tried to scan our coupon and only then, were told their coupon "system" had been giving them problems all day. Now here's where the issue with the store management begins: Our sandwiches should have been about $12 with coupon, but since they couldn't redeem the coupon, it was gonna be $21!!!! One of the girls called the off-duty manager who told her they had to charge full price. I said "Tell your manager that if we are gonna be charged full price, we won't pay. Issues with your machine makes your problem, my problem, and the food will be wasted". So instead of doing the smart thing, the manager decides that it's better to throw away 2 sandwiches, and let 2 ticked-off customers walk out. Let me be clear.... this was NOT the fault of any of the nice ladies working the counter that day.

AS FAR AS THE MANAGER: Seems like the professional, customer service thing to do would have been to take our $12, let us have the food, and later, when the coupon scanner is working, enter the sale into the cash register, and all is well. WOW. What can I say that hasn't been said in the past few months.

First off, I'm not a licensed substance abuse counselor, but I do have law enforcement experience/training in sobriety tests and suspicion of intoxication and let me tell you that the young man who initially "helped" us had pupils the size of dimes.

During the course of travels with the family, I've had the opportunity to eat at quite a few Subway shops and this by far was the absolute worst experience - EVER.

From the shredded lettuce stored in the drink cooler in the seating area to the clearly intoxicated employee who completely butchered 3 basic sandwiches - this location is terrible.

While we were there eating the subs we had to remove toppings we had not ordered on, two DoorDash drivers returned with the same exact issue as us - completely incorrect sandwiches!

The older gentleman, who I assume was the manager had to go behind the intoxicated employee at every step including when he incorrectly charged us for completely incorrect sandwiches. $50+ for just 3 subs and he asks me, "you want chips too?" Like, buddy - my sub is on sale and I've already ordered combos three times.

Bottom line, don't eat here. I'm kinda worried about what will happen with my stomach after processing, but we'll see. There's another one in town, it's got...

Stopped here today around 1:30 on 05132025. Since I pulled in the wrong side, I just went inside to order. The poor young guy was doing about 4 orders all it once, plus, had 2 people at a table. First thing I noticed was how filthy it was everywhere! NOT OK! The guy kept apologizing to me. I was very nice, told him it was ok. The more I waited, the more I looked around and felt very uncomfortable with how dirty it was, including the floors. Nothing looked like it had been cleaned in quite a while. So, when he went over to the window and was getting cash change for the person, is when I walked out! The obvious reason being, as busy as he was (NO ONE else helping him), I doubt he took time to take his gloves off (after handling money), he was going to wait on me next, I decided NOoooo! I left! So NO, I got NO food from here. First of all, it's a restaurant, needs to be several people to keep on top of cleaning, it also gives employees time to be more neat, tidy & clean. I gave 5 stars ONLY since he was so nice and was trying his best to get everyone their food. You'll lose him I'm sure when he finds a better job! He remained very consistent, nice, polite and working as fast as he could! Get it together Subway! Won't be back. Not surprised it has a 3.5...
