Easy to find off the Interstate. Easy parking. Handicap accessible from parking lot. Desk staff were friendly. Very clean lobby, nice areas to sit, study or work. Nice Firepit outside, off main entrance. Hallways, stairs and elevators are well lit. Room numbers off elevators are well displayed, easy to find your room. Modern card key entry. Room was very clean. Generous number of fluffy clean pillows per bed. Room had a lot of fabreeze or air freshener, we had to turn the vent on on in the bathroom and air to vent, but that's better than cigarette smoke or something bad. No dust anywhere, everything seemed very clean. Little one cup coffee maker, clean and several coffee pods with amenities. Everything you'd need for a long stay, toaster, dishwasher, sink, large fridge, microwave, stove, cups, plates, silverware, dish soap even Tupperware and cookware, all clean. Bathroom was very clean, nothing broken or missing or cracked. Nice well lit mirror in bathroom. Easy to use shower/tub combo in our room, clean. We personally don't like (or use) the soap, gel and conditioner dispensers in the shower, but they were there for people who do. No amenities in the bathroom except tiny hand soap. Hooks and a towel rack in the bathroom added convenience for wet towels and hanging clothes or robes. There was a hair dryer in the drawer but we never use them. Large clean bath towels, washcloths and hand towels (no stains or dust). The water got hot quickly, the shower head had 3 nice adjustments, the tub was deep enough for an adult to sit in. The room itself was very spacious. We had two queen beds and there was plenty of space in the room besides. The beds seemed freshly made and sheets were crisp and clean. Oddly no couch but one sitting chair and two chairs at a table/desk. Carpet seemed freshly vacuumed. Plenty of lamps around the room for lighting. Easy to read and use thermostat. Blackout screen for window (no drapes or shades) worked well to block out light and for privacy. Nice large closet with organizers. Oddly no dresser. TV was not very large for the room and old, a larger flat screen would have seemed appropriate considering everything else seemed up to date. Remote needed a new battery, wasn't very responsive. Charger ports and extra electrical plugs by the beds were convenient for laptops and phones. No ice machine in the hall and no ice bucket, guess since it has a full fridge they think you can make your own ice. The room was quiet, we did not hear folks in the halls or other TV's or anything during our stay. Good locks on the door and privacy flap on peep hole. Large clean looking pool and pool area, we didn't partake. Very nice exercise room with modern equipment, all very clean. They serve a little continental breakfast, nothing different, but convenient if...
Read moreCompared to the other hotel options in Sidney, TownePlace is at the top. The hotel just opened a couple of months ago, so everything is brand new. The rooms have a normal (albeit small) refrigerator, dual range electric cook top, microwave, and dishwasher. I haven't tried, but there is a sign that says that you can borrow appliances like blenders, crocpots, etc.
The central heating worked well, and kept the room warm. The bathrooms are new and on the modern side.
There is a smart TV which allows you to connect to streaming services, like Netflix. It also has many cable channels, as well as multiple HBO channels.
The room is spacious and has a good sized desk to work on. The desk did not have any outlets, which is disappointing for this day and age. I needed to go under the desk to plug in.
There is an indoor pool, which I did not use. Also, a gym with multiple cardio equipment, 2 benches, dumbells up to 50 lbs, and a cable machine. So, better than most small hotels.
The self-serve breakfast is your typical for your low end hotels, like hot oatmeal, microwaved sausage patties, eggs, cereal, yogurts, fruits, and juices. I think there was a waffle makers.
There is a nice little market area where you can get your beverages, snacks, toiletries, microwavable frozen meals, etc.
Overall, very happy to have TownePlace in Sidney and a big step up from the Holiday Inn next door. They do have the Marriott Mobile Key, but I can never get that to...
Read moreI can't say enough great things about this place and the people working here. Alexandra went above and beyond to help us and accommodate us.
We had a very rough day. To keep it short our airstream broke in the middle of our rv trip. We were going to split up and my husband was going to stay down the road at a truck stop with the broken RV and my daughter and I were going to stay at this Marriott. When we arrived we told her about our long dilemma and she was able to let us park our airstream in the side of the parking lot and gave us a room close enough to keep eye on it. I can't tell you how grateful we were for her help. This meant our family was able to stay together in this beautiful BRAND NEW HOTEL. She also made sure to check on us, to make sure we had everything we needed. She brought us a pack and play for our baby as well. Seriously I would give 10 stars just for the service if I could.
On top of everything this hotel is extremely nice and clean and smells amazing. Probably the nicest Marriott I have stayed in. The sheets and beds are so comfortable. They have an indoor pool as well that will keep our kids busy while we wait for the airstream factory to open on Monday. We are forever grateful for the kindness and accommodations of this hotel. Thank...
