I've known about the Peacock for a while, but was hesitant because of some of the mixed reviews. We decided to give it a fair chance, and were not disappointed. We were seated immediately, and set about trying to decide on what to order. We decided to eat "family" style, with each person ordering something different, and sharing with each other. Our server, Jerry, was friendly and willing to offer suggestions, which we took. Everything came in a reasonable amount of time, and it all tasted very good. We will definitely come back!
I generally don't rave about specific dishes because everyone has different tastes, but I have to recommend the Chicken Curry. We ordered ours "medium" (my wife doesn't like spicy food), but I added some of their chili sauce to spice it up. The curry didn't overpower the other flavors of the dish like I've experienced at other restaurants, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the mixture of cayenne and the chili sauce made for the right amount of spice for me!
I wish I had not waited so long to give it a try. Thank you very much Jerry (our server) and Tom (the chef) for an absolutely...
Read moreMy family arrived at 7:04PM on a Monday night and it took us about 10 minutes to be seated because no one was at the front counter (there were only about 5-6 tables seated already). Once seated we ordered quickly, but we didn't receive our food (3 entrees) until 8:00PM. Also, we were never asked if we wanted any drinks and I hadn't realized until I had already finished nearly half of my food. Oh, and the food... I ordered the chicken curry (extra spicy) and it tasted like I was sucking on a chicken bouillon cube, way too salty. That was the theme for all of our food, extra salty. While forcing myself to eat the food, because it is a bit pricey, I ran out of rice with maybe four or five spoonfuls of my curry left and was asked if I'd like extra rice. I said I would like a bit more if possible and the male employee obliged. He brought out one of the small sauce bowls full of rice (3-4 spoonfuls) and informed me that that was the last of the rice in the restaurant. How does an Asian restaurant run out of rice? Suffice to say, that'll be my families last visit...
Read moreJust returned from picking up order. Host/server told me 20 minutes arrived in 20 minutes. Host/server said order wasn't ready, they had many orders they were preparing. Not one person walked in for a "take out" order while I was there. I didn't see him bring out any food for patrons dining. Paid sat down and waited. About 20 minutes later, I asked the "bus girl" (the only other employee that I could see) to check on my order because host/server was running his mouth with some customers for the past ten...still talking. So when she gets his attention he runs in the back comes back with my order and complains that... "nobody rang the bell so I didn't know it was ready." I get home and there is no rice in my order. He didn't bother to check it either. So angry that I paid $42 for my time and frustration. I called and host/server said he was sorry and he couldn't bring me rice because he was the only server. He said he would give me a free entree next time I come in. I don't know how long the food was sitting but when I got home it was not hot...none of it....
