Update Sept 2023: we've been back a few times and the first couple were fine but our most recent visit was disappointing. The golden tangy wings my husband loves so much were either over cooked or just old wings. They were rubbery and didn't taste right at all. The other food wasn't as good as before either so due to the inconsistency I dropped a star. We will probably try them again in the future and I'll update if it's better. As a local restaurant with a lot of history we want to support them but I hope they can improve their quality and consistency to avoid concerns like this in the future.
OG review (July 2023) We've gone to Vinny's a couple of times now after a friend recommended their wings. My husband loves the GoldNTangy wings so much he called the restaurant back after we got takeout and told them they are his new favorite wings. We got a Mediterranean pizza that time as well and it was flavorful. The pizza is thin and floppy which we don't mind, it doesn't hold up for left overs well though, so eat it fresh!
We went back to dine in and I had the baked ziti which was fresh and tasted good. I would have preferred more cheese but the sauce was nicely seasoned.and the garlic bread tastes homemade in the best way.
My husband had the GoldNTangy wings again of course with a beer on tap which he said complimented the wings well. He also tried the Eggplant Parm sandwich which he enjoyed. I tried it and the eggplant tasted a bit like cucumber to me but the breading was tasty. It could have used a tad more sauce we both agreed.
We had the same lady as our cashier on both visits and she was friendly and talkative but not inappropriate. She gave honest answers and food recommendations.
The restaurant feels like a home town local pizza place with a lot of history, which it is. It's clean and comfortable enough. No...
Read moreWe always try and shoot for local spots when traveling through a town and when we saw Vinny’s we had to stop in. We love pizza and local so it seemed like a win win. We came in around 745-8 and noticed they closed at 9 since it was Friday. We already knew we were ordering wings and pizza so we’d be in and out fairly quick. The place was pretty busy. We were greeted by the girl at the register after a few minutes. We ordered hot wings and pepperoni/sausage pizza. There were four of us and then a boy dropped off our wings he left two plates and said he’d come back. He didn’t until much later with the pizza and we had to ask for more plates. The wings were great but the pizza is where it’s at. Everyone was really happy. Flavor was good and it was nice and hot. Crust wasn’t dry and overcooked. Vibe is what you’d think a local pizza family spot would be. There are a few pool tables though one was broken. It does look old and could use a little TLC. The place where they lost a star for me is while we were eating about four employees sat at a booth near us and were just chatting away. A in uniform Military woman came in stood at the counter for over five minutes and when the people in back ignored her. Someone said something and either they were too busy chatting to hear or just didn’t care. It was about 30 minutes to closing time. The employees really gave off the I don’t want to be here vibe. All in all we really liked the food. Prices were a bit high, but I’d rather pay that to a local spot than a huge chain. I just hope that’s not how they typically...
Read moreOk, so I've been driving past this this place for several months, now. Having relocated from up North and wanted to give this place a shot. After a disturbingly frustrating time up the street (Papa Johns) I finally had the excuse to go in! This is what I experienced; Family friendly Italian restaurant. It's obviously been here a while. Has that 'Aged' look. Bigger than I expected, even has a couple of pool tables. In addition to pizza, they serve some pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches even beer and wine. Not a big variety of dishes, but pretty much the basics of you'd expect for a neighborhood bistro. I would assume that they had only kept the popular items on the menu. (Savvy) VERY casual atmosphere. I ordered a small pizza to go. Their SMALL was quite large, in fact! More like a medium at other places. For the price, I should hope so! With tax and a $2 server tip (counter service), there wasn't much left of a $20 bill! Finally, when I got it home and shared it with my husband; we both were full after 2 slices of this hand tossed pie! (They don't have thin crust for their small pizza) Toppings were good and plentiful, fresh. No need for extra cheese. The perfect amount of thick, sweet and 'garlicky' sauce. It satisfied our pizza craving that day! Which coincidentally had started out at Papa Johns! (See my Papa Johns Review) Overall it was good. I've certainly had worse! We'll probably try some other things there in the near future. Hope you get the chance to enjoy it...
