Had a killer happy hour snack here recently, and felt compelled to shout it from the virtual rooftops. Consistency is such an important component to a successful restaurant, and a key reason as to why Burning Mountain has been such a dominant landmark in the Colorado river valley's food community. For years they have not only been the best restaurant in Silt by a hilariously wide margin, but the best place to eat anywhere west of New Castle on the I-70 corridor, (until you hit Palisade at least).
Its always been quite strange that the only place to get an edible salad or actual fresh vegetables in this area is inside a somewhat dingy but welcoming pizza place, yet this is the reality we live in. Ingredients actually matter here; evident from the 'better than it has any right to be' burrata plate and every selection from the top notch homemade pastry case. Sure the pizza is much too under-sauced and under-cheesed, but at least it doesn't suffer from under-quality of ingredients used to craft it like many of its nearby counterparts.
They have had their share of poor service moments over the years, and every now and then a green server tries their hand at bartending and fails spectacularly. These moments are few and far in between luckily. They care about and frequently use local vendors when available, from farms to distilleries and breweries. There is so much value and quality here for the price point, with their happy hour being the prime example. The soup is great too, a cherry on top if there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ate here today and it was awful. The waitress was beyond rude, not only to us but everyone else that walked in as well. She also was dressed in baggy clothes and had her long hair down, just looked trashy. One of the kitchen guys who also dressed trashy but looked like ge hadn't showered in 3 days had his girlfriend, who again was wearing pajama pants and looked like she hadnt showered in days, go behind the counter where they preceeded to make out as he stuck his hands through her nasty hair then went into the back. The heavier set lady was sweating and talking right over people food. The whole staff just looked unprofessional. If this was my restaurant I'd definitely have a dress code and teach my staff customer service because this was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The food was "okay" we came before wheb the owners served us and it was amazing but this time, not the same. Bunch of teenagers with zero respect. To the owners I'd recommend some changes before you go down hill as it's hard enough running a...

The pizza shop is set back from the main road in a small shopping center. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We went around 4PM and there was only 1 other group inside.
Itās nice and open and clean. We were promptly given menus and drinks ordered. They came quick and we placed our orders.
I got the Calzone, wife got the Arugula Pizza, son and daughter got a cheese pizza and other daughter got a salad.
Food came out in average time. Everyone loves their food. I have a personal opinion that is not a complaint. It is called Burning Mountain, my Calzone was a little overdone and the various pizzas were cooked more than I would prefer. But thatās just my personal likes. My family loved it.
Now desserts! They have a fantastic selection and it all looked freshly made. We had to get dessert to go. You could make dessert your only reason...
