If you are interested in the story, it follows, but to put it bluntly the food is still decent so it earned a second star. Last year when I was in town, I was told to go to the Blake's in Bayard because the one in town was bad, both food and service -wise. Now if we are fair the service at the one in Bayard was below average for fast food, but not the worst. Anyhow I found myself in silver again and decided to just go to this location because I was tired. I forgot to call in, which guaranteed me a bit of a wait (probably 10 minutes or so unless they were really busy) because Blake's does their food fresh. Fortunately they were not busy when I arrived, one couple was eating and there was no line. I startled the 4 employees who were all just chilling behind the counter, but the cashier Savannah was polite and ordering was a breeze. After I ordered, I opted to stand near the front (near, and in full view of, the front counter) because there wasn't a clean table in the place (also typical for Blake's-get your food to go). After fifteen minutes, and I still hadn't gotten my food I began to wonder what the hold up was, but of course they could just be making fresh chili. After a lady, who placed her order ten+ minutes after I had, received her food-and checking my receipt to verify 21 minutes had passed- I approached the counter. Savannah was still working the counter and asked for my order. I asked when I was going to get my food, and as though she wasnt present before (let alone the order taker), she was confused, looked around, and asked for my order number. She found it buried under the counter, and I asked why no one had called it out. She said she thought I went outside, to which I explained I was standing right in front of her for 20 minutes. She said I must have missed the callout, to which I queried how I knew she took two phone orders, had one counter order (and I heard that called out) and one phone pick-up, but somehow I missed my order being called out (because it wasn't). I promptly left because while upset, I am aware that service workers are treated poorly all the time. These ones deserve it frankly. How is it that the kid who's only job seemed to be changing a trash bag, who kept making eye contact with me, was incapable of informing me of my order? Why does the cashier have selective blindness and no short term memory? Why were the other two employees putting together a couple burgers ittermitently during my wait, but no one was capable of cleaning the tables? Why did one of the unbusy line cooks come out front to fill up a soda, but make no effort to clean tables or inform me of my order? This is beyond the pale and I will indeed never recommend this establishment. McDonald's also has green chili fast food hamburgers (in NM at least) and serves food like a machine. Read moreI tried to give this place one last chance; I stopped here around lunchtime on 6 Feb, and no one was there. No cars in the lot, no lights on inside, no signs on doors stating why no one came to work that day... it was completely dead. They failed me one final time, so I won't ever go back to this location again.

I arrived before 1030 (past the time listed on here as their opening time, which was updated a few days prior), and it was a ghost town. No one was in the parking lot nor inside; it was as if they decided not go to work and chose to not honor their opening time. I removed a star for that.
The other visit was about a week before that date, when it was dark but not super late nor close to closing time.
The individual at the counter seemed okay at first, until we didn't begin to order when they wanted us to. Had this person waited two more seconds (instead of saying in a nasty tone to let them know when we were ready then stalking off to the counter behind them with their back to us), I would have started placing my order. Since they walked off with their bad attitude, I took a minute before deciding I wanted them to come back over. They took our order and asked the necessary questions, but didn't pay attention enough to remember we didn't order drinks as they started to fill a cup with ice. I was so glad to be done with that interaction once we paid.
The wait time to have our food prepared was sufficient; however, when they called us to pick up, the guy gave us one bag with no mention of not having everything in it and that we should expect another. As we started to walk away, a different guy says loudly and rudely, "Excuse me!" to have us come get a second bag. One star is removed due to the attitude from this person and the person from whom we ordered.
The food was great and everything was made properly. However, all the fries were supposed to be large and they seemed to be the exact opposite - not to mention the fry bags were not fully filled. The amount of green chile on the two NM style burgers ordered, was pathetic. One star removed for all of that.
I will say that I loved how they numbered the burgers on the receipt and matched it to the numbers on the wrappers. It's so important to make sure customers don't have to open up things to figure out what's what, and they made sure we didn't have to do that. Kudos.
I'm not sure I'll be coming back to this location... and it's not ideal to have to drive to Deming for my Blake's fix. Unfortunately, I just don't feel like the employees here care about their job or their customers, and that's a big issue. Service with a smile, and a good attitude, goes a long way and is appreciated! Y'all need to work on that... and make sure to stand by your hours...

Blake's is just a go-to place to go so I thought I hadn't been at Blake's to eat in a long time and I was craving their food so me and my senior father and my partner decided we were going to go to Blake's I went ahead and ordered the food ahead of time so that I could avoid any line when I got there for my food was cold my fries were hard and the buns weren't even toasted the cheese on the burgers and on the sandwiches were super hard like they gave us old cheese and when I confronted the manager on duty her name was crystal she was rude this manager isn't very fond of me but I thought she would be professional and leave personal problems aside I was there to eat and take my senior father out for the day not cause any issues. She said she was going to remake all the food but only remade one of our french fries. I really didn't wanna fight I had my senior father with me so I took the food and we went outside to eat. When we went outside the patio was dirty trash everywhere and trashes over filling we asked them if they could clean the outside they said they would get to eat so we sat were we could find the cleanest area. Worst experience of my life. I have had to work in fastfood and serve people I don't like I put my feelings aside and give them the best experience. I wouldn't ever treat someone and there family the way I was treated today. I'm sorry Blake's but I'll be taking my money somewhere else. Which is sad because like I said I love Blake's now I'm going to have to travel far away to go...
