We were so excited to visit Mick's 33 for the second time to Silver City in about a year and a half. Our first experience was a 5 star all the way. This time, the bartender was even able to make a Sazerac my husband's request. The Caesar salad was good and my broccoli cheese soup was good as well. Then came the long wait. It was not as if they were crowded on a Saturday night. Only 3 tables were occupied. Eight diners total at 3 tables. That should have been a sign for us. And we waited and waited for our food. The waitress apologized for the long delay. Finally our dinners arrived. I tasted my husband's mashed potatoes and asked the waitress if they were supposed to be cold. No she said and quickly took the plate back to the kitchen. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi. The pasta was good but the shrimp were rubbery. My husband's sirloin steak and warmer potatoes came back. He had trouble cutting through his steak. It was cooked properly just wasn't quality meat(very fatty) and lacked flavor. So disappointing especially since this was his birthday meal. The check came and already included an 18%tip. I charged the bill and the waitress brought the ticket back to me with a blank for an additional tip(If you weren't paying attention you certainly could have innocently signed for another tip-pretty sneaky in my book) We have praised and recommended this restaurant to our neighbors traveling to Silver especially since we leave in Cruces. We will not be going back to this restaurant again. It was a huge disappointment and a big rip-off, I spent...
Read moreThe food is good albeit highly overpriced. One of the appetizers we ordered was a large bowl of very tasty sauteed mushrooms with a few scant pieces of toast. We requested more toast and were charged $5 for a few more small pieces. I thought it strange with the exorbitant entree prices on the menu, they would need to be greedy with bread. The atmosphere was nice enough in appearance, but every time someone opened the door, the small dining area was flooded with the smell of marijuana smoke from the establishment next door. There were ceiling fans on over the dining tables that made the food chill quickly. The wait staff and bartender were all extremely pleasant and helpful. The seating was organized in a way that was conducive to private conversation and I enjoyed the evening overall. However, I don't foresee returning often and likely only when it's chosen by others due...
Read moreMick's 33 Lounge was a pleasant surprise. It took me a while to find it! I couldn't see it driving by, but found it when I was walking by. The location is rather obscure. The decor is warm and intimate and has cloth table coverings! The gentleman playing ambiant music on the guitar complemented the cozy atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone. My husband got steak and lobster tail and I got salmon. Both dishes were very good; you know, one of those dishes you'd order again. For dessert we shared a HUGE piece of cheesecake...OMG! The prices were very acceptable for what we received. Our server was so proficient and kind, we couldn't have asked for better. I will definitely be frequenting this restaurant, and I highly recommend that you do too!
