Read moreOrdered Oxtail w/ rice, peas, cabbage. Cabbage, rice, peas served in container together to go although I specified the order to eat in. The cabbage was uncooked. Rice & peas didn’t even look like they put effort into preparing it. Oxtail served in small separate container. Mostly bone as I sifted through it. For $21 the value was terrible.
I returned it.
I would have still been very hungry given the minuscule portion of oxtail and my inability to eat the cabbage cause it was served raw. And I didn’t order raw cabbage. Basically the rice and cabbage is an inconsequential cost to Negril. So, they are charging customers $18 for an inadequate portion of oxtail given each piece had large bone attached.
Admittedly, the flavor & texture of the oxtail was very good. Still not worth $21 when the cabbage, rice, peas were basically inedibly prepared.
This is the on-going saga of greedy eateries. If they would just be reasonable with servings for costs they’d generate greater profits. But they rather skim the servings so they don’t have to work or produce as much while thieving you.
Remember: eateries pay wholesale costs for food. Yet they charge you multiple times over their operational and profit costs.
Buy yourself a crock pot. Slow cook your own oxtails. Recipes are...
Read moreDisappointed to the point of tears (of frustration). When I walked into the store it was empty and my friend went ahead of me. At this point I had 26 minutes on my meter. She ordered two chicken roties, I ordered a vegetable roti, 1 cookie and a sorrell. Twenty minutes later i watched as SEVERAL customers who walked in after us were served their food. My friend eventually got her order , but i had to wait some more. I joked that they must have run out of vegetables and made a run to the farmers market for some. To apologize for the wait the cashier gave me a free veggie patty and as it turned out the patty was THE saving grace. By the time we left Negril my meter had run out.
When I cut into my roti i was expecting something really delicious because the receipt said it was a Curry Vegetable Roti and it was packed with broccoli, carrots, , pumpkin, and a variety of beans. I WAS WRONG! It tasted of steamed vegetables in a soggy roti wrap. There was NO curry, salt or seasoning. I will never return here, because it is clear that they do not cater to vegetarians. I give it 2 stars because the patty was nice and the prices...
