5/4/22 & 5/8/22 I did not think I would be returning to M&T Cafe & Bar so soon, so here I am left, re-writing my reviews due to limited space. Today my hubby and I dined in; looking through the menu, there had to have been well over fifty items, not including drinks; everything sounded so enticing, but I wanted Chicken Teriyaki, which I ordered. My hubby wanted Banh Mi Sandwich and ordered a Southern Fried Chicken Banh Mi. My teriyaki came with white rice and a very basic salad with a sweetened white dressing, no discernible taste with that dressing aside from being sweet. My food was plated well and looked so good. And although the Teriyaki Chicken came cold, I was eating it because it did taste scrumptious. I did bring it to our server's attention to let the kitchen know that the teriyaki was cold and not adequately warmed. Still, it was so good I had no problem eating it cold, and although the kitchen and wait staff insisted on bringing me hot teriyaki, I declined many times. They gave me fresh anyway, which was fabulous and probably the best chicken teriyaki I have ever had, hot or cold! My hubby loved his sandwich but was slightly disappointed with the size of the plate itself, which was aesthetically pleasing but hard to work with because it was small.
The cafe was fresh-looking and clean; it wasn't overcrowded with decor but enough to please the eye. And with their lighting, the ambiance was warm; the large curved windows in the front, as you walk in, gave the cafe a feeling of being more significant in appearance and, weirdly, almost a soft modern industrial look.
So far, I have enjoyed an Avocado Matcha Tea with Boba. The choice of sweetness was 30, 50, 75, or 100%, I chose 30%, and although drinkable, creamy, and tasty, it was still a little overwhelmingly sweet to me. As far as healthy, I feel the sweetened Match and the Boba overrules the healthiness of the Avocado, IMO.
I enjoyed two spring rolls; their cost was under seven dollars, and a Non-fat Boba Latte the other day. I have to admit I've never seen spring rolls that were not deep-fried, not that I'm complaining about the other ones, but I try and stay away from a lot of deep-fried items, these were lovely, fresh looking, and perhaps, either way, is the "traditional" way, I honestly can not say. They were yummy, and I will purchase them again sometime.
I highly enjoyed the Non-fat Boba Latte, minus the brown sugar swirl around the cup, which was so tasty but odd as it may sound; I enjoyed it just as much without the brown sugar swirl.
One more item I have had from here was a Non-fat Iced Latte; although not entirely disappointing, the drink could have been more potent; I wanted more coffee taste which I didn't get from that.
A few other items on their menu were Noodle Bowls, Teriyaki plates, Fried rice, Pho, Appetizers, and more. The drive-through menu offered the typical hot and iced drinks, americano's, lattes, mochas, etc., some teas, London fog, chai, and so on; this place also offers blended beverages such as espresso shakes, fruit smoothies, protein smoothies, etc. Classic drink section that has listed boba drinks, milk tea with boba, and puff cream; what the heck is puff cream?? What about tiger sugar milk with boba? Unique sounding, right? I won't stop there; M&T also offers smoothies, such as passion fruit smoothies with boba, avocado matcha tea with boba (I had that), strawberry shortcake with boba, and many more. There is a slew of extra toppings, very interesting, to say the least.
The staff seems friendly enough, accommodating and clean. My hubby used the restroom, and he said it was clean with no foul smells or sticky floors.
Their location is in the Silverdale Plaza, 10424 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, WA 98383. This plaza hosts several other businesses, such as Ross, Seoul Korean BBQ, Chili Thai, Wild Bird Center, etc.
I always say it's a great way to support a locally owned small business and get some excellent food in the process!!!! Be safe, enjoy the Spring, and please be kind to ALL...
Read moreTLDR: The food was very decent for the price, good place for a quick date or dinner.
This place doesn't have a lot of competition in the Silverdale area as far as Vietnamese places go, which made it a rather obvious choice. The location is very easily accessible, just off a main road, and with lots of outdoor and indoor seating I don't imagine it's difficult to get a table even at peak hours.
The ambiance was very nice. Felt like I was definitely in more of an upscale cafe, and with mood lighting in the outdoor seating area it felt cozy after the sun went down.
The service was wonderful. Our server was very kind, quick on his feet, and got everything right! The appetizer came out super quick, and the main course was nicely paced to space out the courses.
The food, however, left something to be desired. The plating is fantastic; major props to them for the food looking just like the pictures, and the pleasing appearances. We got the house spring rolls, which are BBQ pork and shrimp. They were okay, but tasted rather average. For a price of $9 for two rolls, I was expecting more flavor. The peanut sauce was good, though peanut sauce is simple and usually delicious. For the entree, I ordered a BBQ pork Bahn Mi, which looked fantastic. The ratio of pork to veggies was perfect, and the pork was absolutely delicious. The bread wasn't nearly as high quality I was expecting, especially for $12, but it was still good. I do wish they had fresher vegetables, but we went rather late so it's possible that's on us.
As for the drink, I got a strawberry peach black tea. It tasted like a normal boba tea, very sweet but the fruit flavor was very prevalent and it wasn't terribly expensive.
All in all, I did enjoy my experience at this place, and I'm excited to return...
Read moreWow, the ambience here is quite nice! With the lighting, decor, the music at just the right level of "loud"... even where the bar is positioned... inviting and so chill. Not your typical vietnamese joint. Staff and service was great. Welcoming and just the right amount of attentiveness. Recommend though being pro-active in getting out utensils and napkins before food arriving so your customers don't have to ask for it. Not a big deal with me, but there are those customers that get all riled up for small things like that.
Grilled pork bahn mi: GEEZ. The bahn mi brought out was by far one of the biggest ones I've seen. It came with a side salad, nothing fancy. But still a nice touch.
Chao giò: Their menu description says there's pork belly and chicken in it. I love me some pork belly and I couldn't taste it. It was more chicken and carrot tasting. I do appreciate the fact they're dipping sauce wasn't just plain old sweet and sour sauce. I detected some fish sauce in there, yum!
Overall, my dining experience here was lovely. I left extremely full and satisfied. Im definitely coming back to see what their "Saigon" coffee is all about. P.S. LOVE that they serve water in glass bottles and set it at your table. Its the small things!
Some things to note: Drive-thru available Bar not able to serve alcohol until their liquor license is good to go free ample parking shared with other businesses good place for...
