Sleep Number — Hotel in Contiguous United States

After working with me for several weeks rehabilitating from a spinal fusion, my physical therapist recommended I look into a Sleep Number bed to help get a better nights sleep. I've always had a hard time getting a comfortable bed for my back. I had a traditional box spring and coil mattress for several years thinking there wasn't much better out there. I tried the bed in a box solution which helped but still wasn't perfect. I even spent big money on a zero-gravity recliner that I had accepted I'd be sleeping in for the next several years. So on a visit to see my dad I stopped in the Sleep Number store in Silverdale and met Amy. I was just "going to take a look". Amy took her time and introduced me to the Sleep Number bed system. I told her from the start I was skeptical and always thought the Sleep Number bed was just a gimmick. She empathized with me and invited me to lie down in one of their beds. It was set to 100, the firmest setting. I laid down. Wincing from the pain in my back I raised my knees to relieve the pressure in my hips and lower back. Something I do in every bed I lie down in until the discomfort eventually subsides. I was uncomfortable and thinking I was right, another pipe dream of a comfortable bed. I saw a graphic pop up on a screen above me showing my pressure points. She pointed our the red areas of the graphic. I really didn't need to see it, I could feel it. Red hot zones of regret and shooting pain. Why did I lie down? I knew this wouldn't be comfortable. As she dialed down the bed I noticed the tightness and radiating pain in my back begin to subside. My jaw dropped as I the bed got closer to my Sleep Number. I was speechless. I lowered my knees and lied flat. The bed held me. It was firm in my shoulders and legs but softened and cradled me in my lower back and hips. As the bed got softer in my back and hips the pain melted away. For the first time in several years I was able to lie flat in a bed without having my legs bent and my torso raised. I guess the look on my face was something that resembled "Sleep Number is NOT a gimmick." I was a convert! My idea of "just looking" quickly turned into how do I get this bed home? I'm excited to say Amy found a way to get me into my dream bed. She may have made a sale but she also made me a believer! I just spent the first weekend in my i8. Very happily unproductive. Woke up without any stiffness and slept very comfortably. I usually have to get out of bed because my back can't handle being in bed for more than 4 hours but Sunday was a marathon of Netflix, napping, and nodding off. 5 stars to Sleep Number! 5 stars for a great product! 5 stars to the awesome delivery team! Great service! Came here interested in a specific mattress from looking online, and the associate who helped us was really pleasant, helpful, and experienced. The whole process of trying out the mattresses and finding your number, and seeing your individual pressure points, was really cool. The only thing I didn't care for is they do charge for delivery, and for the amount of money folks spend on these mattresses, it seems like they should offer a free delivery option.

Maybe the best part: A few days after we bought our mattress, I saw an ad on TV that it was on sale. I went to the Sleep Number website to double check. Sure enough, they had shaved $200 off the mattress right after we bought it.
