Have lived in SV for the past 35 years. Have been going to Baja Fresh since it opened, however, last night changed all that. Got there around 5:30pm, early, no one was in the place (bad sign) even thought it was early. Went to order and there were two people there, a young man and a women around 40/45 who we have seen before. The young man took our order and was having a problem with the order, I looked at the women and said, is he new and she said yes, I said could you help him. She hesitated to help him but pulled out a piece of paper reading off the new burrito that was a special but never acknowledging us. Then stormed off to the back. I asked my husband did you tip and he said no, not with this going on..Anyway, I got the Tostada w/chicken and my husband got the burrito. Poor choice on my part, little chicken and alot of pico dae gallo and lettuce, little beans. I usually get the Fajatias. Her attitude about helping the young man was pitiful and sad and the service and lack of meat was not acceptable. I think we need another place to get mexican food. Everyone experiences our first time, especially in over the counter experience which is a whole different experience, she could have helped him and ot...
Read moreWhat happened guys? To give context, I’ve been coming here for years( about ten) and I would say if you wanted some healthy Tex mex, to come. The food used to be fresh , flavorful, clean, and delicious. Lately this place has been failing to live up to that previous standard. Yesterday I ordered a steak Baja burrito. My steak tasted old and my stomach got sick from it, the guacamole was bland. My wife ordered a chicken quesadilla and that was alright but the guacamole was still bland. The place looked dirty and messy. The mango salsa was thick and tasted more mango than salsa. It was very disappointing. Last time I was there my chicken was dry and more. It’s sad. This place used to be so good. Please put heart into your food. I want to support this establishment but if there’s no change I will not be...
Read moreMy first job was at Baja Fresh in Thousand Oaks almost 20 years ago. I still love the quality and taste of the food. I have been to this location a few times. Usually it's not busy. It's busy on Friday evenings apparently. I don't think there crew is used to it being busy. They all seem very flustered and unorganized. There are more people waiting for food then eating food. It might just be this particular combination of employees that is the problem. Food will still probably taste good when it finally is ready. It's been 25 minutes and I can tell they haven't started cooking it because it's enchilado style and the overhead oven is empty. I even ordered steak instead of shrimp in hopes to speed things along. Oh well. Not even half their tables are occupied. I wonder what would happen if they got...
